Hi from Sunny England!

Hey folks!!

Just discovered the forum. I've been riding for about 18 months (passed my DAS here in the UK in August 2017) picked up my first and only bike so far, a 2010 Ninja 250R about 2 weeks later. I've got an unrestricted licence so i could have and can buy any sized bike I want, but I've lost friends and family over the years to riding and decided if I can get the basics down on the 250 then I'll hopefully be a bit better off.

Thing about me is I like to tinker, and annoyingly so far i haven't really done anything with my bike. Hopefully I'll pick up some ideas from you lovely people.

See ya around!

Welcome! The thing I've learned about the little bikes is that you learn good riding skills that a larger bike might let slide. Gear choice- on a 250, you learn which gear to be in, when. On a bigger bike, you could just grab a handful of throttle even in the wrong gear.

Hey, yeah those are all reasons I figured I'd have a go with a smaller bike. My hearts and sights are set on supersport bikes but I didn't fancy leaping onto one from the get go.

During my DAS testing I learned and tested on a Suzuki 650, which I dropped several times which I felt bad enough about. But had it been my shiny Zx6R I'd no doubt have been distrought!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

If it's not broke don't fix it
Enjoy the bike and do the maintenance no more

I'm a firm believer of that myself which is why i'm glad I haven't really had to do anything with it. I've done little maintenance bits but other than that nothing serious, just get to ride it and enjoy it

I'm about an hour and half away from Brampton. I'm in South Lakes in a little dead town called Barrow

Well, you'll find that after decades of evolution and fine-tuning, the bike is close to perfect. Might want to do some suspension upgrades to fit your weight and riding style, but that's really all tinkering that'll yield any noticeable efforts. Along with any cosmetic mods you find pleasing.
