Issues starting up

About two days ago, I went out riding during the day to get some riding photos. It was pretty hot out, and I stayed out for about an hour and a half. Later on that night, I went to start up, and the bike wouldn't fully start (think I had full choke on). It also wouldn't start with no choke. The engine would turn on, give a pump or two, then shut off. Yesterday, went out for a ride during the day for about an hour, then same thing happened last night when I went to start up. I got it started with no choke then just eased in the throttle to help warm up. Any possibly ideas what this could be?

I originally thought I just didn't have enough gas in the tank, as on the first time my read was about 1/8th of the tank (though I know the gas meter doesn't give an accurate read) and the bike started up when I stood it upright.

Open the fuel cap next time when your having issues starting it. You may have the notorious tank venting issue.

Ah, that can cause it not to start properly? Haha I thought it was just that the tank whistled. Definitely will keep it in mind, thanks!
