Ninjette SmugMug community
The ADVRider forums are linked to a SmugMug community. Does anyone have any experience with this? (I just created a SmugMug community in anticipation) I'll ask over at the ADV forums as well.

Yup, I've run a smugmug community for a few years for montgomerybikers.com (right here). Nice way for smugmug users to link their galleries to single site.
Downside is that it requires people to have a smugmug account, which isn't free, to load any pics up. But for folks that already have one, why not. There is some clunkiness with the way smugmug communities work; for example there is no way to sort galleries. The last gallery loaded (or the last gallery modified) always moves to the top. So if you edit or crop a picture on a gallery 2 years old, suddenly that's the top gallery in the community. For people who don't want or need a paid service, this site has its own photo album features where people can load pics directly. Look under the quick links menu in the navigation bar for "pictures and albums". Also, the pictures and albums features are supposed to be much improved in vBulletin 4.0, which we will move to as soon as it is released.

For the pics on this site? It's configurable. Right now I'm limiting pics to 1024 x 1024, and 300 KB each. As pics are uploaded, if they are larger than that they are automatically resized. I've currently got user albums capped at 50 megs per user, so with those metrics that's 150ish pics at max size.
But, that's just what it's at right now. Nobody is using much of their capacity, and as of now we're using less than 1% of our disk space and less than 1% of our allowed bandwidth, so there's plenty of room to grow. In other words, if people start using the album feature more and bump up against the current limits, I can and will raise them either for those individual users or all users as a whole. Smugmug has virtually no limits on size or bandwidth for most users now, which certainly is a nice feature. I'm a big smugmug fan and have been a user for years.

Forgot to mention that ninjette.org is already using smugmug to populate that random pic up in the top left, as well as the larger random pic on the ninjette.org splash page. More info in this thread.
