Puddles are scary

I park in a parking garage, and the exit has a cement encased exit ramp up to ground level. Today, there was a large puddle, had no choice but to go through it. So I swung wide to limit angle inside the puddle; unfortunately this put me deeper into it. The garage is well maintained, so I wasn't worried about junk in the puddle.

Ivy had been running for about 10 seconds when I went through the puddle.

Part way home, she didn't sound right. Her exhaust sounded odd and power wasn't there.

Upon further inspection, the header-to-S bend clamp was broken. I think the heat change from engine to puddle cracked it.

Got two hose clamps that should work relatively well.

But, that was exciting and unusual.

Looks like the bolt and clamp was damaged from when I bottomed out a while ago. Perhaps the temperature change was the last straw for the weakened clamp

Hate it for your luck... I used to think puddles were scary, haven't felt that way for a while.

What's scary is riding in a rain so hard that you can barely see the lanes and cars are pulling to the side of the road cause they can't see. Your visor is fogging up when it's down, but when it's up the rain feels like a barrage of needles to the face, so you crack it open just enough to see.

That's scary
