It does limit the larger tire sizes which can fit in the swing arm... However, I love mine!

Oh really?

I thought Kelly was using a 150 rear on his with no issues? Hopefully he will chime in here shortly..

Although I may have him mixed up with someone else??

I'm using a bt016 150/60 rear tire and have no clearance problems when using Scott's new style hugger. (I don't know if the "new style" makes a difference with clearance or not)

The only problem I was having with using that tire is mine was touching the chain guard until I removed it and am now using just the hugger as my chain guard.

I thought I did my research correctly.. New style is what I have coming and when Mary wears out the rear tire, a 150/60 will go on..

Kelly thank you for chiming in, I think your 250r is a inspiration to us all.

Thanks for the headsup Kim! For more clarification, when I last communicated with Scott, he had 3 designs. 2 that fit smaller tires (old and new), and 1 that fit the 150. The "new" small-tire design has creases in it like the front fender does, the "old" is just round.

I highly recommend Scott and his huggers. I asked him all kinds of questions by email and he immediately got back to me with answers to not only my questions, but questions I didn't antiicipate but should have asked. His customer service is second to none. You will be very happy that you worked with him.

Also, if anybody has any apprehensions about the tape used to stick the hugger to the swing arm, have no fear. I had to remove my hugger for a larger tire, which 2 weeks will be changed, but anyway, to get the hugger off was righteously difficult, so that thing isn't going anywhere....

Off topic, but Kelly, what's the lock at your clutch side passenger peg for? Your helmet?

lol... that's my hi tech solution for a tie down point which was eliminated when the stock footpeg brackets were removed. It's actually a big tie wrap.

I use it as my rear tail bag bungee cord hook point.

So what's the benefit for having one of these?

Awesomeness, mostly.

Functionally it doesn't do a whole lot, but should protect the rear suspension somewhat from dirt and water thrown by the rear tire.
