Last time I took mine apart, I rolled a piece of sandpaper up real small, and sanded the holes on the fairing where the windscreen mounts. I also, sanded the black plastic 'nuts' that the windscreen bolts mount too. I then used gorilla glue and glued them in. Now I can change windscreens in 90 seconds =)

I'm planning on doing the same thing with my windscreen bolts once I get a new front fairing.

Gluing the windscreen screw inserts should be a classic top 10!

I don't think it's all that big a deal really. I doubt that stuff is going to happen on the road unless you're far too close to a vehicle in front of you on the highway. I really hope somebody doesn't start shooting through stuff like that with a shotgun!!!!

Ok, I just learned more info.

According to http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Fairing.html, there is a class of Acrylic that is DOT approved and will not shatter when hit by rocks at speed. One would hope that the Zero Gravity shield and Laminar lip use this... so I suppose it won't stop cows , but at the very least it won't let rocks through to your chest.

Well, I think I'm going to go with the Laminar lip. Even though it's pretty pricey for a little bit of extension, the overall aesthetics are a lot better from what I can see, whereas IMO the Zero Gravity DB just accentuates the squareness of the headlight, which is pretty fugly, let's be honest.

I'll take some pictures with it mounted

I had a laminar lip prior to the DB.

It did a fantastic job of re-directing airflow and was especially good on the highway.

Unfortunately for me, I could not find a good spot to mount it. I tried MULTIPLE mounting spots and got a bunch of wind noise around my helmet.

Also, I originally put it on in the fall. Once winter rolled around the lip caused my face to become much colder due to air being re-directed at my shield.

I think it all depends on your height though. I am just shy of 6'1" and the lip just did not work out for me.

As far as the DB, I don't notice a real difference from stock until I do a semi-tuck. But I do think the DB looks much better than stock.

I eyeballed one of Mike's shields and cut my own. I laid a sheet of clear Mylar over the stock shield to get the hole placement, drew a rough outline of what I wanted, then transferred that to a sheet of Lexan. I then cut a vent to reduce baffling, rides like a different bike.

Looks good, any problems with your levers hitting the windshield? After wrecking my bike and replacing the broken parts, I'm back to the stock windshield, at least for now anyhow.

I'd like to see people post pictures of their windshield mod in this thread.

If you have a source webpage for your windshield on your Ninja 250, supply a link, too.
