Definitely keep both. Price painting the black one and repairing the orange one. Go with the cheaper one. Sorry about your tank though...I would say that its much better than having it dropped and cratering the tank!

Keep the updates rollin'!

Yep, that's what I plan on doing. It's such a silly mistake to do though, I'm super frustrated at myself. I think next I'm gonna get a hard locking case for my helmet and gloves. Coocase, Givi or Saddlemen are the ones I'm looking at. 28L tops or it'll look way out of place.

I took my first freeway ride of the season to Ikea. The new tires handled super well and I love the new air flow direction with the ZG double bubble. The WC lowered risers are nice on the freeway as well.

I rode with my new boots for the first time. Took a couple city miles to get used to the feel of the shifter with the boots, but once that was taken care of I absolutely love the boots. I walked around Ikea in them and other than being a bit hot and a bit awkward in stairs I was very comfortable.

I need pants!!

Also ordered new mirrors and a new tank pad for the black tank.

I went for a short ride with no gloves () and my new grips are soooo comfortable compared to the torture instruments that are stock pregen grips! I got the Progrip "Superbike soft touch" (the catalog shows numbers, but that's all the packaging says for the ones I got?) and I can't recommend them enough!

@notsofast, you have to get an EX500 clutch perch. Then the EX500 levers will fit.

I got regular sized my clutch lever is curled right now, and I hate it.. Not enough room for my fingers to be comfortable on it.. So I assume shorty would be the same.

I have the same grips! I had trouble with them binding the throttle against the right side controls or the bar end grips. Scrunching it together toward the middle fixed it.

- PowerStands universal license plate bracket. I love it. The turn signals are WPS. Check my blog info all parts are listed

@Lychee, haven't had any issues with binding so far. I'll keep that in mind should I ever experience some though

Apparently, my new mirrors and tank pad are waiting for me at home

I'll probably get home from class pretty late, so I'll install those tomorrow and post pictures. Hopefully it won't take super long for the levers to ship from China.

Just wondering where you got the front flush Mount signals. I got some off eBay and even though they claim to be for a pregen they don't fit right without lots of modification (if you want them to fit nice). Looks great so far.

Sucks about the tank.....I'm surprised I haven't done this myself yet, guess that why I haven't won the lottery yet, all my lucks used up on not mixing bolts

I could be wrong but they look like AsianCycle flushmounts to me. They are a perfect fit with great color matching, but they are no longer available to buy new.

Hey! I actually got them off eBay, they are indeed AsianCycle knock offs. The two color choices were carbon and chrome. I got the carbon and got them painted black with the rest of my bike.

How much did you pay for that new tank from the junkyard? My tank has had a punctured hole ever since I bought it and it drives me crazy. I've been looking into getting a new one but haven't been able to get my hands on one yet.

Contrary to what I've seen people say here, they were not made specifically for the 250F and do require a little modification. I know because I bought some for my friend in around '09/'10. Paid way too much. All they did was sell them with matched paint and replacement lens options. All the cutting is done to a part of the fairing that is covered up by most signals, so modification is, at least, minimal.
