Gotta love ICON

If you're going to look like a clown, you should go all the way and get clown-themed gear.

I hope they produce clown-themed boots. I'd love to see that.

imo icon gear is HIDEOUS!!!, although i do have their field armor knee/shin guards (great product). they cater to the stunter/outlaw demographic. pretty lame if you ask me. i'm more of a fieldsheer, cortech, tourmaster kinda guy. to each their own i guess.....

i love my scorpion exo-700 i have no complaints about it at all, plus i like how scorpion slashes the price on previous year's graphics when they release new ones. i got mine from newenough.com for 89.99!! (normally 249.99).

i did a ton of research before choosing the exo-700, all the reviews said for $200-$300 it was the best value by far, and that it had similar quality/features of helmets that run $500+. the fact that i got it for less than $100 was just the icing on the cake.

I've slagged ICON before too, got zinged for being a hater and in the same thread said that sooner or later they'd probably produce something that really appeals to me just to prove me wrong.

Sure enough, only a few weeks later this came out:

Hi-viz yellow plus lots of reflectivity plus good looking graphic accents. I'd buy this if it fit well.

although the first one is the most gawd-awful helmet ever, there is no denying it also being hi-viz

You can laugh and joke about Icon all you want....but when you put an Icon Speedfreak helmet on for the first time, and take a ride and realize the 8 vents they put on that helmet, and the quickdry liner make it as comfortable as a 8000 thread count feather pillow, and HVAC.....you will buy it.

Not a huge fan of icon either but I assume their helmets are of decent quality, never got the chance to put one on yet though.

Gary Jaehne wears one of the speedfreak helmets if I remember, I would laugh till he blew by me.

Awesome

I actually quite like the more crazy icon helmets (without the stupid horn things though) as long as they are good quality ofc which I have heard they are.

Oh it's a lovely helmet! I love this thing to death. It's blingy as hell, though haha.

I've seen some of those Icon lids with the horns on them and they definitely get attention. They don't look as horrible in real life.

I cant confirm this, but a guy at a local motogear shop was telling me that Jason Britton, fell during a stunt show and his Icon Field knee armor and gear DIDNT hold up! The ground ATE through it and messed up his one foot.

IMO, i like icons helmets. They make some Cool looking stuff, but too pricey for me.

I own a pair of Icon Accelerant Waterproof Boots. First of all, they were "waterproof" for the first month, then after that when i ride in the rain the first thing my feet get wet was the Toes! They suck ass in the waterproof department.
(rain pants were pulled over and worn properly so water WASNT getting into the boot that way, if ya thought that)

I really like how comfy they are to walk around bike nights and im able to wear them all day. Well, maybe like straight 13-15 hours, but you get the idea.

I also feel the level of protection they offer would hold up Ok in a crash and slide, but i havent had the chance to do so! Thank God!!!

I don't understand how an injured foot can say anything about the Icon's Field Armor knee/shin guards.

I second the motion...
Mine protected my knees just as I expected them to, but they do not protect your foot somehow magically lol, guess that is what boots are for

I like some of icons stuff. I really like the new overlord jacket they came out with it looks awesome. If I didn't have what I got now I more than likely would have the overlord jacket. I don't see why some people despise them cause stunters buy the stuff (normal riders get the gear too). Its just like hatting all honda's cause ricers buy old civics and accords them and stick fart cans on them. Might be getting there new overlord gloves since icon gloves seem to be the only ones that have enough room for my long narrow hands from the pairs I tried (your fingers shouldn't be touching the tips of the gloves right?).

But that clown helmet looks absolutely retarded to me. to each his own though, rock it if you like it

Icon has a lot of very normal looking gear, and good quality too. They only offer extravagant graphics to whoever want's to buy it (its only a vinyl wrap anyway..)..I don't know why people like to slag on diversity. That clown helmet comes in plain colors and without those spikes.

+1 on Suomy lids.....

+1 on Suomy - IMHO they are the best helmets on the market for numerous reasons, the primary one being that they ARE NOT Snell certified. Most of them come in 3 shell sizes, and most of them have hot graphics.

Icon - makes me laugh; I have the Kitty jacket just to clown myself; it makes me smile to think of myself crusing down the road in a lavender jacket with stars on the sleeves..... Hilarious for sure!

everyone has their own personality...obviously, and everyone has their own image of how they want to look and feel while riding.

but the clown helmet is stupid looking, mainly because I don't like clowns. lol but my sister LOVES clowns so she would be all over that, not sure about the horns though...although, i did see a rider on my way to Laughlin with that helmet on, and I admit, it did grab my attention and it was pretty cool. as stated earlier by others, to each their own.

Hey Wellcraft, I ran across that TiMax 2 jacket online (as well as the mesh version they offer) and wondered what you thought about its ventilation, fit, and armor situation. As for the ventilation, I saw you're from GA, so I'd assume you're familiar with hot and humid riding; and as for the armor, do you think that the layering on the spine segments would cause problems in a feet first slide scenario?
