Chinese seat cowl

Wouldnt ya know it ? I take time this morning to write about my fender eliminator and take some pics and then I get ready for bed (Im on 3rd shift). Knock at the door and my seat cowl arrived. You order these parts from Hong Kong and they take forever. This was just shy of a month waiting on shipping and I wasnt expecting it till next month really.

My first impressions are
1- That fit is stupid. I need to pick up a grommet for the back post. Will look better and actually be usable then. Can't ride with it like this.
2- Color is not a perfect match but you really cant tell unless you get right up on it.
3- Quality is super. The paint is really nice and shiny.

Overall I am very pleased. It cost 55 bucks and free shipping from Hong Kong. Bought it off eBay. Im not one to really care how long an item takes to get here so long as it arrives. Usually when I buy from HK or China, I end up forgetting about it and then it arrives.

As a side note.....Does my rear tire look bad ? I question it as its squaring off but Im not down to my tread mark, not even close. I have 5.5k miles on that tire and its stock

Hmmn, the cowl doesn't look bad...might get one for that price. The tire looks pretty similar to mine, it's squaring too and I've got about 2.5k on mine. Not much twisties around here and I use mine to commute about 85 miles a day.

I mostly got it because my wife and daughter will be using this bike alot and I don't want my daughter having the option of carrying a passenger.

It looks nice too, but if you get one you need to realize the fit is horrible. You won't be able to just snap it on and ride off into the sunset.

Looks pretty good! The stupid fit is common even with OEM ones! As for the tire, you should be fine. Just be weary in turns at speed, the transition from upright to leaned over will be very abrupt for the tire, and you will have lost quite a bit of contact patch unless you're all the way over.

^This. Same reason why I want to get a seat cowl. Only for me, the first thing my friends asked me when they found out I got a bike was can they get a ride (not realizing that passenger riding changes the game and it's probably not a good idea for a new rider). For now, I simply tell them yeah the bike can, but the rider won't haha. Could you possibly link up to the ebay seller? I'd like to check out their colors.

Thanks. I saw that thread earlier and asked my wife to pick it up for me. She did attempt it but got the wrong size. The one she got fit the ring on the bike but the center hole was too big for the post on the cowl. Ill have to get it later. Preferable when we arent having this heat wave.
