Wrenching day on my ninjette :)
So today I deemed to be wrenching day.
Started at 9am and just got finished at 6, the work included replacing a throttle cable, installing HID's from DDM Tuning, and a rear brake light modulator. The new slim ballast kit from DDM comes with a spacer so you no longer need to go buy washer and cut em up to make them work as spacers. It did still require some modification... The spacers four corners need to be snipped down to the pins and sanded smooth to fit the round contour of the light receptacles. I also trimmed off about 1/2" of the thick inner part of the OEM headlight housing sealers to make the included grommet fit snug and watertight. Lastly, or I should say firstly since it needed to be done first, is that the kit includes a piece on each light with 2 cables that are not needed. These should simply be pulled through the grommet leaving 2 of the 4 holes in it empty. No injuries until late in the day when I was tired, went for one of the last fairing bolts... yup the big bottom bolt on the right side. Wrapped my finger under to get a better grip, and boy did I... on the exhaust which had been running for 15 minutes to burn in the new HID's... /facepalm I reacted fast enough and got to cold water/ice, it seared the top layer of skin but didnt give me blisters or any deep tissue damage. Will only take that once for me to remember lol. The HID's are 35w 6000k slim ballast kit from DDM tuning, they look great and look slightly blue because they are a crystal light. Just the color I wanted, as I think the 8000k would have been too blue for my liking. I will take pics and upload when it gets dark.

AND THEN THERE WERE PICS!
This lowbeam (right side) is the true color of my HID's once warmed up.

What does your rear brake light modulator do? Seems like a common mod people are doing on this forum.

You can see that when the bulbs turn on for the first 3 minutes they are a bit more bluish, however the light is a crystal white. The highbeam closeup shows this with the highbeam bulb bluer than the low beam which has been on a few mins.
Just looks bluish because halogens are yellow and I think the White balance may have been slightly off, its a tad less blue IRL. Their amazingly bright. And yes, I love it! Azhyen: I mounted the slim ballasts to either side of the metal piece directly center of bike behind the forks. I mounted the little epoxy filled boxes on either side of the forks on the cast metal, this way everything has clearance and is tucked away nicely. Ill try to snap some pics and get em up. The rear brake light modulator causes the rear brake to flash for a few seconds before going solid. Helps get the attention of people behind you.

Careful with 55w, they can melt the headlight housing.
Also, DDM ships slim ballast kits form china lol. Mine are 35w.

Yea yours are definitely more blue, as you can see in the highbeam picture i have the low beam is a truer reflection of the blue mine are.
The highbeam had just turned on so it was more bluey, much like your 8k's. And you really do have different angles for your bulbs, I can see your highbeam at a higher angle. :P Im gonna go into the garage today and do my adjustments, supposed to be .04 angle at 25 ft for lowbeam and dead straight for highbeam.

yeah i aimed the low beam down really low almost as low as it would go, well doing so made the high beam higher..loL! it actually lights the ground up nice at night.. actually in looking at your headlamp pic your 6k is pretty close to my 8k IMO..

Frequently different distributors/manufacturere will have considerable variation between the 'same' color temp. Also, higher wattagw bulbs will sorta wash out, so a 55W 8000k looks similar to the same supplier's 35W 6000k.

Greatwhite, are your 8000k bulbs running on 55w? That would explain why OP's 32w 6000k bulbs look much like yours. aka, what Momaru said.

Mine is definitely more true crystal white than blue.
Greatwhite's has more of the BLUE blue in it, if you look at my light projected on the door of my garage you can see its pretty crystal white with very little blue in it. Either way, I love the HID's and people definitely see me now. ****, I see me if there's anything reflective in front of me xD

^ this.
Good mounting spot is just in front of the ignition key receptacle.
