Ninja 250r won't go past 75 mph max
Im new to riding just this spring i bought a 2010 ninja 250r bone stock except for a slip on two brothers carbon fiber exhaust i dont know much about mechanics to a bike so full detail answers would be apprieciated thinking about taking it to the dealer also my rpm wont go past 8k on 6th like hitting the red line im learning on this bike so what would be ideal rpm to switch gears i always shift at like 8k because my bike just "feels" like thats a good shift lol

If the engine just won't rev, many times there's an issue with the intake. Either something is blocking the intake snorkel (where the air comes in), or the air filter may be really dirty.
If you are in 6th gear at 8000 RPMs and open the throttle, you aren't going to get much. The Ninja's engine needs more RPMs to make enough power to overcome drag at that speed. 9500 and above will put the engine in a much better area for acceleration. That means clicking down a gear or two to bring the revs up. The engine makes peak power just over 10,000 RPMs, so that's where you need to be to get the best performance. As long as the engine is properly adjusted, fluid levels are correct, and the engine oil is good, there's no problem going into the 10,000 and above (redline) range. |

IMHO, 75 mph is fast enough for new riders. Are you able to stop quickly and safely from that speed? What about swerving and counter-steering with confidence? If not, I recommend you to practice that and to moderate speed. The engine could have some problems (power generation), as well as the brakes and chain (excessive friction). You could inspect the air intake (it should be open and clean) and the spark plug's connections and wires (clean and solidly connected). If you have a fuel filter, cleaning it may help, as well as the air filter. After a trip, touch the each brake disc and feel if too hot to the bare hand. The chain needs to be lubricated frequently (around 200~300 miles) and should be flexible (no kinks) and properly adjusted. The proper air pressure of the tires is also important and should be checked frequently.
