Cool Ninja 250 on a 275-km round trip?

Hey guys, I have a few concerns about taking my Ninja on the highway for a sustained time of an hour at about 110km/h. Anything I should do to prepare the bike for the trip? Recently waxed the chain, oil doesn’t need to be done for another few thousand kilometres. What else should I do to prep the bike/check for? Thanks!

Check nuts and bolts, tire pressures, coolant and all electrics.

I've done some 200km trips and the bike wasn't a issue.

The issue for me is my back and wrists.

Do some warm ups and stretches at your stops if you are old and crusty.

What weather conditions are you expecting?

Just ride it, that's less than a tank of fuel I regularly ride my 2001 ZZR 50miles each way to work at 80mph. No drama. Enjoy.

About 24 Celsius, sunny, smooth traffic conditions.

The Ninjette is easily capable of sustained freeway travel. Several of us have ridden our ninjettes thousands of miles crosscountry. Just do your your pre-ride checks and enjoy the ride.

Yep. I've done a couple longish trips on my Ninja, no problem. I stop about every hour for a quick stretch break, but that's about it. Bike does fine.

I think the longest trip I've done in a day was 350 miles from Las Vegas to just outside of Los Angeles. I've done several 200 mile days. Hot, cold, no problem.

Bonjour Aeron et bienvenue!

Long trips are not problem. Several weekends ago, I took trip of 520-km in one day. I started north of San Francisco and went north on US-101. Then headed to Fort Bragg on coast. Stopped there for lunch and filled tank. Then came back down on US-1 (PCH). Ended up in Napa.

I just returned from a 4 week ~7600 mile trip across the USA on an old gen Ninja 250.

You'll be fine.

I did a 450 mile (750 km) day last October on the Ninjette. Up I95 and the Jersey Turnpike at speeds of 75-80 MPH (120-130 KM/hr). Coming back we were running about 90 MPH (145 KM/hr) on the Jersey Turnpike with a Police Escort. Little 250 did just fine. It's spinning like crazy, but it does it.

Check you fluids (oil, radiator) check and lube chain, bring some chain lube with you to hit it every other tank of fuel, check tire pressure.

These little bikes will run just fine on the freeway.
