Just bought a pair of BiLT trackstar boots on sale at Cycle Gear $70
Hey all, i have been riding in high top AI answer 5s or so reeboks (high ankle support and velcro covering laces) since i got my bike. i wanted a pair of track boots but good ones are expensive and i was putting a lil money aside here and there for them. i got an email from cycle gear telling me the BiLT trackstars were on sale for $70 (reduced from 130) so i figured what the heck, at least take a ride over and look at them. so yea, they felt good, and the price was right so i bought a pair in black/gunmetal. heres a pic. anyone else have any feedback on these? i only wore them to ride for about 30 min today and they felt pretty good, need to break in a lil bit. alot different than sneakers LOL

It's a good entry level boot that will protect your feet/ankles if you go down. Not to mention they make shifting much easier. You made a good choice!

That pretty much describes it. I purchased a pair because of the same reasoning as you, and after about 3 months I returned them because I honestly just wasn't happy with them.

I love mine! They are a great commuter boot. I did add some inserts for my bad feet. Other than that, they are holding up well. I wear them at least 3 times a week and had them for a couple of months. No problems with them at all. I wish I bought 2 pair when they were on sale. Oh well...

I have a pair and use them every day for commuting. For $69, you can't beat the value. They are lightweight, breathe well, offer decent protection and I find them very comfortable. The protection isn't enough for the track, but they still compare favorably to other boots I've had, with toe, ankle and shin protection that I think would do well in a street getoff.
At first, I wasn't a fan of walking in them, but put in a pair of new insoles to good effect. The stretch panel on the back of the boot is showing some signs of wear after a few months -- there is no way they are going to make it to the end of their 5 year warranty. But in the meantime, they are doing their job very well in the hot weather I ride in.

I purchased the boots a few months ago. I have about 500 miles on them now. They're exactly what you said. Good entry level for the price. They're better then wearing boots or tennis shoes. The left shoe front has a plastic piece on the front part of that has already broken off also their straps are not the best. But for $80 it works for now.

On another note don't buy there mesh jacket. It says CE armor but doesn't feel like it and there back pad is thinner then my t-shirt.

FYI, if anyone orders a US size 14, they're a euro 47 and aren't a true size 14.

I also bought these boots and so far i am liking them, the only question i have is the toe slider. Was looking at mine and saw one of them had a slight crack in it and was wondering if there was a replacement that has been proven to fit.

Wearing mine now. (No, I'm not on the bike.... )
Killer deal. Size labeling is way off of US norm, but appears to be accurate for Euro sizes (the sole of mine, which are labeled US size 9, says 42). Reasonably comfy, especially if you're gellin' as I am. Good venting. Very happy. The heel could be a bit narrower for me, but that's okay. |
