Mr. Pringles = Mr. Pain
Anybody ever experience severe stomach pain from eating Mr. Pringles (potato chips)?
I substituted dinner with Mr. Pringles (Salt & Vinegar flavor), and the following morning also had Pringles immediately waking up at 6:30am (BBQ flavor). After the 4th chip I felt an immense pain all around my stomach. It was difficult to breath and I couldn't stand up straight. It felt like someone was squeezing my intestines with needles. My back started to sweat. I was about to dial 911 but decided maybe I should just tough it out. I called my sister and she immediately came over and maybe some tea and poked my thumb with a needle to relieve some pressure (Asian thing which I'm not really into but wateva will relieve the pain is cool with me). I was immobilized for the whole day, and slept off the pain. The pain lessened a lot but I can still feel it lingering if you know what I mean. I plan on visiting my doctor tomorrow (only time available). I googled "severe stomach pain after eating Mr. Pringels" and apparently there have been similar cases. I'm curious to know if anyone on here has experienced the same pain from eating potato chips. From a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being unbearable pain) this had to be a 9.5. A 10 to me had to be the time I shattered my ankle. OMGosh that was painful!!!!

Unfortunately, by the time you come to the realization that this does not, in fact, actually say anything remotely useful, you've wasted 3 seconds of your life you'll never get back... |

Only thing close to that would be severe food poisoning and kidney stones with kidney stones being the worst in pain.
edit: FYI: Normally, your body takes 6 hours for food to digest. What did you eat 6-8 hours prior? Any severe symptoms within minutes is an allergic reaction.

This isn't the first time I've had these chips before. I've had them the month before. I was thinking food poisoning but I do remember having a few of the BBQ flavored chips that same night. And I was fine.

Did you eat anymore after the episode? If it were me, I eat some more and see if I could replicate the symptoms. I do find it odd that it happened to you. Could be massive indigestion or intestinal gas build up. Were you farting it up or pooping it out afterwards?

as suggested above it wasn't gas pains felt in the lower part of your abdomen was it?
They can be pretty painful if it is bad, enough to buckle someone over with a high pain tolerance. This could be a reasonable explanation as well because your digestive system could have been just idling along and then when you woke up and ate even just a little bit, it simulates your digestive system to pick up the pace and potentially moved a gas bubble into a tight bend in your intestines or something to that extent. Gal stones are associated with eating but generally occur a few hours after eating (2-6hrs) but depending on how hard it is for the stone to pass the pain lasts for 6-12hrs it sucks. I don't think that's what you experienced. I had stones at a very young age and due to know it all Dr.'s who refused to listen to me I had to deal with the stones for the better part of 12yrs until I finally got my gal bladder removed.

I would do it myself in the name of science! Did you drink enough water?
I've eatened a whole box of the stuff in one sitting with no issues. Unless you had gastritis or some kind of ulcer, I have no other clue as to what could have caused it.

I once ate an entire sleeve of Pringles and was fine. But it was the pizza flavor (the best flavor)

Haha...yup that's my favorite too. And I too ate an entire sleeve with no issues whatsoever. I can only think it was the chips. I'll know more when I visit the doc and ask them to run tests. Who knows...maybe it's stomach cancer.

I wish I could be there to see/hear the Doc to tell you not to replace meals with Pringles

Truth. People don't realize how terrible that stuff is for them until they cut it out completely. You immediately start to look and feel healthier because you are.

That's why my diet consists almost entirely of rocks, pinecones, rain water and unrefined petroleum.
