no spark ???
I have a good one going on. I put the new motor in and have no spark. I can't wait to find the answer. But in the mean time its ....let's learn all about the ignition time.
First off the whole writing system is not stock.. no kickstand switch or starter cut out. I also have a BRT ignition. But I swapped in an 88-94 cdi and still have no spark. Tried different coils. I have power on the red wire to both coils. If I connect a lead to the coil and tap ground the coils spark. I checked the pickup. 114 ohm. And cranking it has 3to6 volts ac fluctuations while cranking. I checked grounds on black yellow wires. And .made sure the pick up is not shorted to ground. I checked voltage to the ICU and have lights on the ICU. I also made sure the battery is fully charged and holds 12 v while cranking. The bike ran before I pulled the other engine out. I really don't want to pull the motor and swap the other one out. Any ideas?

I tried swapping over a stator and pick up from another engine. Nope.
Now I have a 1988 250 Ninja. Going to test it and compare. I am baffled at this point. One thing I noticed. I have 12 volts at the battery while cranking but only 10.7 at the coils. Both ignition modules do the same thing.

OK I found that the green black wire on an 88-94 ignition module is grounded. On the 08 its hot or at least the gray wire is hot. Once I grounded the Green black lead I had spark with the 88-94 module. I guess my BRT RTis is bad.
Anyone know of an adjustable ignition module??
