72 CB750 Project

So I finally decided to start on my first bike project that got tossed to the side in favor of the ninja. Since the ninja is on the road, time is now.

I do have a question for people.

Any idea if I can use this to carb sync the ninja? Other pics and things about the cb will follow later

Basically it came on the bike and I can't find any info about this one anywhere. Must be vintage haha

I don't see why not if the gauge and valves work. I still have an original Honda sync tool that has four separate gauges.

To use the one you have, hook two hoses up, one to each carb, and using the valves, open and close each one to compare the reading between cylinders.

You only need to open the valves just enough to get a read. If you open them too much, the needle will wildly vibrate at an idle. use vacuum caps to plug off the unused nipples.

But I am more interested in the vintage of the 750. It has been over 30 years since I worked at the Honda shop, but I can still give you a few tips.

Haha its a 1972. Complete with wire wheels, windjammer and hard bags with seat back rest. I can get some more pics up soon.

More pictures will come once I have some down time this weekend to relly document everything before pulling it apart. Im really stoked I found the original keys the other day haha.

the only really unfortunate thing about this so is that the shifter is missing. Which made getting it into neutral a blast...

I love the Tom Cruise look alike picture.

Cool bike. If you put that fairing and bags back on that bike I will personally come by and torch it.

Haha, the fairing and racks will go back on only if I have to take a long trip. I'm trying to devise a way to cafe racer the bike while still being able to go back to cruiser with just a few bolts.

When you get it running, be sure to used the highest quality chain, staked if possible. If you break a chain, you will destroy the crankcases and you will be up shiat creek. That bike is too rare and valuable to dick up.

I had a chain break and it did smash the cases and I was up shiat creek

Found a good alloy welder and the 2 inch chunk of crankcase was still inside so repaired but I have lived in fear of chainbreaks ever since.

Here's mine, now sold(yes I know it's an F1 exhaust the 4 into 4 was prohibitively expensive)
