Roebling Road track?

Has anyone ever done a track day at Roebling Road in Ga? I'm considering a track day there and would like to hear others' experiences. There is an all ladies track day on August 27, and I believe a men only on the 28th.

Don't take the 250 nota good layout for the bike. The 650 should be fun.

Roebling is fun. Besides, it's right outside of Savannah which is also fun.

All the girls from Daytonasportbikes are going.

Cool! Thanks for the info. Have you ridden there before?

I wonder if there will be any other girls on 250s riding on the ladies only day. I also wonder if we'll be leveled or if advance track riders will be grouped with us noobs to the track. Anyone have any idea or other information about the ride at the end of August?

There aren't any turns that make it fun on the 250. Your wide open all the time. None of the 250 racers like the layout because its a long fast track better suited to the bigger bikes.

From Jeff's Bike earlier this year.

Here's a question I just had.
I've ridden plenty of mountain roads, so I do have experience cornering, however, I've never done a track day. I'd use it as a chance to have coaching on my cornering to help me improve my, well, everything! Do you think for someone's first track day whose sole purpose is to try to improve my cornering that the track could be ok on a 250? Just curious b/c my intent isn't to get out there and tear up the corners. But I would love to grow as a cornerer (is that even a word?)

Edit: Your video cleared it up. It looks like a BLAST, even on the 250! Especially for a first track day!

I think you'd have fun and grow on any track. I do think that Roebling wouldn't be terribly fun to go to over and over again, based on ztrack's reasoning as well. It's not fun to only have highspeed corners on a lower-powered bike that is just left wide-open much of the lap. That's why Infineon is so much fun on a 250 here, while Thunderhill not so much. Or why the Streets of Willow is 250 nirvana, but the big track at Willow not so much.

Hey Cowboy! Thanks for the suggestion! Have you ridden the 250 on Jennings before? I checked it out and it's only 5 hours away from us, so it's definitely doable. The only reason I'm still considering Roebling is I LOVE the idea of a lady's only track day for my first time. However, it doesn't look like the best track for our little bikes, but Jennings does!

Lucky. Even my 650 was a hair too tall for me, dammit. Can you loan me a couple of your inches (height, nothing else. Get your mind out of the gutter. )?

Look up the novice days at Jennings, its a great learning experience. Very few riders per group and a lot of contact time with the instructors.

RRR is not as much fun as some other tracks, but it's still more fun than riding on the street. Depending on where you are in Georgia, Little Talladega may be closer and is the perfect size for 250s.

Here are some highlights from a trackday we did at RRR earlier in the summer. At about the 8:00 mark, there's a full lap on the 250, filmed by a chase bike.
