Not sure...it was in a different thread. You posted something and I saw you're from Wahiawa.

Edit: it was the one you put in coolest pic of your bike thread.

Still waiting for the hubby to stop being a PITA! I'm having surgery on the 12th and after that I'm getting a job to pay for it myself. He changes his mind every other week about me getting one. So....I'll just get some $ myself and buy one.

Definitely a scam. The image with text on it gives it away:

Also, it's listed in the Baby & Kids Stuff - By Dealer section.

are you going to put the tires in yourself? If so, make a video, or post pix.

Yeah, I prefer a newgen but right now I'd take anything. Also, I did buy some parts for it so that would help. I just can't see spending the $ on an older one until I can save up for a newer one. Although, I could probably get the $ back for it. Those seem to go pretty fast around here.

doing some maintenance. When was the last time anyone checked the coolant on their bikes?
I just checked mines, it is pretty low. Can i use 50/50 antifreeze to top it? I also have one that says mix with any color. can I add those or do i have to flush it?

ouch:

Well, since my valve seals and head gasket are shot, I decided to tear into the engine and replace them. Started at about 3pm, and stopped at 7pm. So far I've done:

Removed:
Headers/exhaust
Carbs (thankfully very easy since I swapped the airbox for velocity stacks)
Breather cover
Cam cover
Camshaft
Head bolts

It doesn't seem like a lot of work, but it took four hours (I did screw around a bit, so that took up some time). I'm at the point where I can remove the head, replace the gasket and seals, then button it up.

I WAS going to do a valve job and get mild porting or port matching, but I don't have the money or time for it right now. I MAY just get rid of casting marks and slag, but that's about it.

I'll probably finish this up on Sunday, but I'm still waiting on my oil pump, so I'm not sure if I'll be DONE on Sunday.

You know Hickam has them for 180 I heard. I work at the PX and it's 200. There's another one out there cheaper but I would go with GoPro.

If you do it at the dealership, expect it to be expensive because they charge you labor rates for taking the bike apart (like 4 hours @ $75-78/hour) AND to see if the valves needs any adjusting which adds more time as well as the cost of parts. You can be looking at an easy $500-$600 since it is THE major maintenance on our motorcycle.

I just ordered the shims for my bike (Hot Cams 7.48mm kit for around $69 shipped) and planning on doing it soon. I have no experience on doing this kind of stuff but my friend MIGHT help me out. Keyword, might. Last time, I had the valves checked at Montgomery Motors for the first time at 12,000 miles and they said that the valves were all in spec and needed no adjusting (they still charged me for the time they spent and they are one of the most reputable dealerships on the island so I trust them). Right now I have 22,000 miles on my bike. I change the oil frequently, use the bike only for commuting (no wailing on the throttle), and it seems okay. I definitely still gotta check my valves soon though.

It makes me wish that I kept my R6 because those valves need to be adjusted every 26,0000 miles. It's like pixie dust was sprinkled on the valves of Yamaha bikes whereas our bikes need to be checked as much as Ducatis in terms of valves. Who would have thought that?!

Hmmm, maybe ill go to montgomery motors to do my valves. Id like to eyeball the bikes for a bit.

So bigger bikes valves need to be adjusted every large amt of miles?

$60 shipping to Hawaii. Going to take off my wheels and bring them and the new tires to South Seas on Tuesday. Had to make an apt because they are busy(according to a friend). damn. even though i take off my wheels its gonna be $119+tax thought it be a little less considering im already taking off my own wheels and bringing them in can't do sh!t tho. already booked the apt and i dont have time to shop around or the tools to do it myself. times like this i wish i was back home on kauai. I have the tools or a friends i can borrow to do basically everything including fabrication all by myself
