Notes for Kkim regarding California model "Gettin Nekkid", gas tank removal, carbs

Gettin Nekkid
5mm allen for bottom rear of fairings (no washer)
4mm allen for top forward of fairings (plastic washers)
Medium size flathead screwdriver for plastic rivets on underside of fairings.
#2 phillips for press rivets on front inside of fairings.
4mm allen for screw no washer on inside front

CALI gas tank removal
Seat bolts are 3/16 IMPERIAL allen (NOT 5mm, they are very close in size and 5mm WILL STRIP the bolt)
10mm bolts holding tank down
3 hoses on front left of gas tank (unmarked, blue sticker, red sticker)
red hose spits a little gas when removed :P

carb screws: all black on carb one, all silver except one black on carb 2

Ill post up relevant pictures here soon enough as well.
Hoped this would help out other newbies and prevent people from guessing at bolt sizes and stripping stuff.

Usually, you'd want to put something like this in the actual thread it's relevant to.

That said, I have a folding metric hex set that fits the two bolts under the rider seat just fine. I doubt it's SAE/Imperial.

Its relevant to multiple threads of his. (Fairing removal, gas tank removal, kleen air, and carb work)
And im dead sure it 3/16". I have a whole set of "security bits" with every head you could imagine. The 3/16" fit perfect.
Pictures to come soon of the cali gas tank and wierd kleen air system.

Isn't it possible that 3/16ths is a near perfect conversion for a particular metric size?

That said, I've never found the seat bolts too tight at all. In fact, I've seen complaints about them working out on their own! Are we both talking about the same thing? I'm talking about the two bolts holding on the rider's seat that are only accessible after taking off the side panels.

3/16" is too small and will round it out. They are 5mm. This is on a Federal model.

I would imagine everything is metric since it's a Japanese bike assembled in Thailand. I haven't had any issues with 5mm (aren't they the same bolt as the bottom fairings as well?).

Yup 5mm hex works just fine, as far as I can tell you can do anything to these bikes with a 8 mm, 5 mm, 4 mm hex, #2 driver (jis is best) #3 driver (if taking off bar ends) 10 mm, 17 mm socket/wrench can pretty much take the entire bike apart with those.
