2013 Ninja 300 Rear Shock

Currently my 2013 NINJA 300 is town down waiting on new parts to show up.. One of them is a new rear shock. I have not rearched this myself but have read that they have increased the valving from the older 250R shock to make it a little stiffer. I can vouch that it is ALOT stiffer than the shock on my 2009 250R but that bike also has almost 5k miles on it.. This shock will bolt directly onto the Ninja 250R. I have ridden 2 up and there is no excessive sag issues with a 350ish lbs on the bike like my 250R has..

It is currently installed on my bike but if I could get $50 shipped for it I would be willing to uninstall it and send it out.

Any takers?

EDIT:: Forgot to mention, there is 600 miles on it as it sits right now

Alright a got a second one now for sale. My buddy ended up buying a 300 not long after me and he liked my how my bike handled with the different shock, so he went the same route.

So now another one for sale, this one is like new, it has about 550 miles on it. Again asking $50 shipped to the lower 48.

Thanks!

Would the increased stiffness possibly be too much for an F-bike?

No. They changed the damping, which my J shock could use just a little more of on my F bike.

Just buy it dooood!

Make sure you adjust the front end for your weight also, and you'll have a nice handling bike on a budget.

Definitely want to but I just made a few large purchases recently and, after looking at things today to see if I can afford this, it's think it's safest to hold off on any more purchases until I do my taxes and know what I'm looking at financially.

Who's next in line?

Chris,

What shock did you end up using with the EX300? I've been searching and there's not a lot of after market stuff out there yet. Will any newer EX 250 rear shock fit, or did you need to use a specific one?

Thanks. Advice much appreciated. At 108lbs, the stock shock completely sucks for me.

The 250R aftermarket shocks will fit. I (and my buddy) went with the GSXR shock mod

Thanks! Are you're saying that anything that fits a gsxr6 will fit as well as ex250 shocks??

Pardon my naivete, never dealt with shocks before. Would love it if I could find something used and not spend a fortune on this. This bike is very, very stiff. If I don't stand up on the pegs on the freeway it knocks my glasses almost off.

Have you lessened the rear preload to the lowest level? The 300 comes shipped with it in the 2nd position.

Yes. Because I'm 5'1' anyway. And calculated the spring rate. The spring has to go, and why not spruce up the whole rear shock while I'm at it?
