bleeding brake fluid... still usable?

Im putting on my woodcraft rearsets + woodcraft brake line, which requires me to bleed brake fluid and replace the bolt... bike only has 300 miles on it, could i reuse the brake fluid or should i just go to the store and get some more? if so, any specific type of brake fluid i should get that would work best?

yes, you should replace whatever leaks out with fresh fluid. your owner's manual lists the proper fluid to use.

Never reuse brake fluid as it gets contaminated when flushed.

okay, i couldnt get my brake line to bleed according to the method in the manual... i hooked a hose up to the bleed valve on the caliper and took off the reservoir cap... it says diaphragm also, where is that? nothing was coming out of the hose, so i am obviously missing something and the only part i couldnt clearly i.d. is the diaphragm

yes im a noob, just trying to learn to be more hands on, be nice

The diaphragm is a rubber bit on top of the fluid in the master reservoir. If the cap is like the -F bikes, it might be stuck in the lid or something separate. If the cap is a round one like a modern sportbike, it's probably built into the lid.

When you say "the fluid isn't coming out", have you opened the bleeder and squeezed the brake lever?

Tip: stick the end of your hose into a glass jar filled with an inch or two of fresh brake fluid. This way, if you screw up the bleed, you limit the amount of air you can accidentally suck back in the system.

ok so i got it to bleed.... but VERY little... then it sucked back some air because the whole hose never got filled to push out all the air

how do i keep it flowing out? i held down the brake, but it bled a little then just stopped... normal? should i just start filling the reservoir with fluid now and itll bleed more?
