chain replacement
Links contained in threads (2) appear to be expired.
Simple question : facing the chain, master link at botom: should the opening in the clip face forward or rear or should the opening in the link be in the same direction the chain travels or opposite travel thanks |

On the top of the chain, as it is moving forward, the open part should be facing toward the back. Way to remember it is it's oriented like a fish.

I never thought of the fish picture to describe the master link. That works. I generally think of it as an arrow pointing forward like you would with your tire rotation. either way, I also like to dab atv silicone over the master link plate for quick inspection of tightness/placement before a ride.
