$3,999 for a 2008 250r?

some dealer wants $3,999 for a 2008 Ninja 250 with 1200 miles on it. I'm not sure if that's the OTD price, but I think it ought to be considering a 2012 MSRP is only about $200-400 more than that.

A friend of mine told me that Used bikes are usually different [than New] and are an as is price and what you see is what you get for the price on the handlebar.

I don't know if that's true or not. Asked for a quote anyway for the hell of it and gonna call back and ask for OTD price.

Shall I offer him $3500?

That fender looks so much better than stock. lol

I'd wait to see what Kawasaki brings out in new bikes today. You may be able to get a brand new 2013 model for a few hundred bucks more. Once the new line is introduced...prices may drop.

There is a dealer here selling a 2009 with only 40 miles on it for the same $3999 price. I don't think the $3999 includes tax, tag and dealer fees.

Admitingly I probably got pretty lucky, but as reference, I bought a used 2012with 3700 miles on it for $3300 just about a month ago here in SoCal. Bike still has warranty (PO got it in March this year) and is in perfect shape (i.e. never dropped, well maintained, plenty of tire life left, not a scratch, needed nothing). During my search, I also saw a used 2012 with about 4.5k miles at a local dealership and they wanted $3750 plus tax for it.

Of course the 2009 you saw might be exactly what you are looking for and worth it to you, so I am just stating the above as an additional piece of info as you consider the deal.

Ride safely

I bought my 2009 with 600 miles (just got its first service performed by the dealer) for $3500 from my local dealer in March (beginning of motorcycle season here).

That price on a 2008 seems pretty steep. Them wanting over $4,000 is ridiculous!

@Heed, I think you'd be better off frequenting Craigslist. You'll find better deals, I'm sure. Over $4k OTD for a 4 year old 250 doesn't sound like a good deal.

Yeah, the guy is nuts for that price.

I wonder if there'd be any used Ninjas in the winter time. I wonder how much cheaper the new ones would drop then.

Jeeezus. With this dealers logic, I should be able to get one OTD for a billion dollars then.

But seriously, how much should a Ninja 300 be OTD? $5280-5500 I imagine

My son bought his '09 Special Editon w/ 343 miles on for $2700 in Columbia SC. One smal crack in the bottom of the right lower fairing. That was in April/May of 2011

I bought my 2008 (Black - the fastest color) in Gaston County, for $2200 in Jun/Jul of 2011. Had 12,000 miles on it.

I've looked around... when it's time to sell, I'll list in FL, Atlanta and CA... you can flat get more for bikes in certain areas..... I'll deliver the bike for the difference in price.

Even if this was 2008 and the bike was brand new you're getting bent over at that price...

Buy with cash. Tell him that MSRP was $3,500 for that bike and you are NOT going to pay more than $3,000 for a used one no matter the condition.

I bought mine new in 2008 for $3,500 + $200 set up fee. I paid no tax because it was purchased out of state but I paid taxes when I registered in GA. It was probably another couple hundred.
