Bell Helmets Closeout - 50% off (RS-1 for $199.99)

http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/h...+closeout+sale

I think i'm gonna grab a RS-1 Shattered, since my Vortex took a couple knocks on plastic vents, cracking them.

First time I've heard of this website but I am really tempted to grab their Alpinestars Trigger 1-piece suit they have on closeout.

Must... resist...

I have the flying tigers version. It's kind of loud, compared to the RS-1. It fits pretty comfortable though, despite being tight at first. Airflow is great as well.

I think I might just settle for the Vortex combo with the dark shield for $120. Still a pretty great deal.

Just got my helmet in today, came in a box containing the bell box, bell Helmet bag, owners manual. No damage that i can see. I ordered it last Friday so it took 4 business days to get here. Unfortunately I can't give a review because as i was going to tighten my chain the cotter pin broke in three places and i forgot to pick up a new one.

Anyone have a rec for a CF helmet with good airflow that doesn't cost a ton?

I saw the shark's, they look tastey, but all the closeouts seem to be, well, closed out. . . at least @ STG and others. . .

The helmet showed up in 3 business days. I dealt with one gentlemen from their customer service staff since my shipping address is different from my billing address. What brief bit of interaction I had with them seemed pleasant and gave the impression that if something had been wrong with the product rectifying it would be little to no hassle.

Sure do like this design, and the fit is pretty much perfect for my oddly shaped head. This is also a picture of before the solfx has gotten any UV light.

This is outside it took 5-6 seconds maybe to tint itself and it looks great. The ventilation has been superb so far which is great since the weather is really starting to warm up in my area (100+ heat index today).

Overall it's great so far, just needs to be broken in a little for better comfort.

Thanks again for the heads up on this deal @xSean13

Moral of the story:

No problem! I agree with everything you said regarding the helmet, and now I'm wishing I had gotten the transition shield :P

I have bought from Motorcycle Closeouts before....no problems whatsoever

Joel, as for a CF helmet, I have tried both Bell Star carbon fiber and regular helmets...the carbon fiber helmet weight difference is negligible.

I also ordered the rs-1 shattered helmet with the solfx shield. It only took a few days to arrive and after wearing it just a few times it already seems broken in. At first it was really tight and i thought about getting the slimmer cheek pads but i read you need to wear a new helmet a couple times before it breaks in and now it fits great. I had a shoei rf-1100 and it would always whistle, so that got annoying. I feel the fit of this helmet is similar to the shoei which i thought was very comfortable and the solfx shield is great plus no whistle noises anymore. BTW, Sizing from shoei's large to bells large seemed the same. Very happy with this purchase and i'd recommend it for others!

I really want to order the RS-1 still but I am afraid about the fit. Their return policy sucks.

Scroll down to "Slightly Narrow" and see if any local store carries any of those helmets to check for fit. I can attest that the RS-1 fits the same as the HJC CS-R1 el cheapo lid which most stores carry.
