I think I get more looks from dudes being on my 600 and all decked out with gear. I also noticed that women look at my fiance more probably because oh wow look there's a woman wearing all high speed leathers on a shiny sportbike on her own.

Maybe I should be more detailed with this reply, or I could guess that most guys on a MOTORCYCLE forum don't appreciate hearing something like that.

So many guys, particularly sport bike riders automatically think they are hot sh*t for having a bike. I hate show offs and egos.

Humble guys who have nothing to prove and just enjoy riding responsibly are great, but the ones who speed or do illegal stuff are not my type.

What kind of loud? There's a difference between a 2 Brothers exhaust and excruciating Harley loud.

YES! THIS! I put sticky backed velcro on all of my windows and stuck fine nylon meshing to the other side so I can have my windows open to get the fresh air in the house and keep the spiders at out, it works like a charm

But the other night we had a massive house spider as big as my outspread hand in my living room, and a hobo spider about the same time in the kitchen!

It was horrific, I didn't sleep all that night, then I kinda pulled the duvet tight to my neck to stop any getting in my bed, then I realised the duvet was mere mils flush to my eyes, and spiders naturally go for the eyes, so I ended up sleeping with the lights on kinda sat up with a can of RAID.

I also religiously put netmeg at each entrance, lime juice around the windows and doors, and fly paper as a last defence.

Did you know spiders don't have muscles? They use the contraction of fluids using a heart like organ to pump their ways about, yes, spiders are hydrolic, that's reason #76 to hate them.

That's a very American thing, screen doors and screens on windows, you typically don't find them in Europe above the Mediterranean.

Same with air con, I don't know of anybody with air con, but you seldom see wall radiators in America outside old apartment blocks in new york too i've noticed, you guys seem to have ducting in your walls for air systems, were you typically have solid walls here.

Huh, strange. I love leaving my window open to get fresh air. I would really miss not having that.

Speaking from personal experience, it seems more like they're attracted to the fact that you ride/have a bike, rather than actually be seen on the bike, if that makes any sense.

I am also married and ride. Just an unscientific poll. Did you ride before you got involved with you current significant other? Most of the time the guy gets the idea to buy a motorcycle and the wife says no.

Nope, I started riding after being married and because of my wife! She got a Vespa from her mom and so we went and took the MSF class together and after that, I wanted an actual bike for myself!

i know a couple people who started riding after they were married. a family that i'm sort of an honorary member of... my friend started riding scooters, then her mom and dad and brother started riding. now they all ride pretty much daily except for her (baby duties)

vast majority is the opposite though.

I rode before I was married, or even knew my wife. I didn't have a bike when I met her though, or when we got married, but she knew I had every intention of riding again when I had the money for it. 2 1/2 kids later, I got a job where I needed a newer vehicle and it was just smarter getting something cheap that gets good gas mileage, and she had no problems with me getting the bike.

I also started riding after I was married. I needed cheap transportation in grad school, so started on a scooter, was terrified of traffic, bought a pre-gen, and it was game-over. She's not overly fond of my riding, but she's good about supporting my hobby and occasionally riding with me. She's even thinking about taking the MSF this year just to see if it appeals to her.

The ones that ride are usually either:

1) old
2) ugly
3) smokers
4) too much like me (too manly)

some are all of the above which is just too much to handle...

Can't remember the last time I actually saw a fit chick on a bike other than the back seat.

Girls like the uniqueness of a rider and the sense of mystery and power we can portray, and then they fantasize about being with or getting to know that type of an individual. Although in the end it all comes down to you as an individual and how you portray yourself. All the bikes, mystery, power in the world doesn't mean jack **** if you look like this kid...

I can pull off looking more attractive on a ****ing vintage scooter...
