This made me cry

Such a beautiful machine should not be treated in such a way!!

I was running an errand on my lunch when I pulled behind this guy and I almost choked. The owner of this bike better take action. His (most likely but on the possiblity the owner is female...) bike is DANGLING there! Baltimore streets are not smooth so every time that tow truck went over bumps the helmet bounced!! Obviously this bike was picked up for some reason or other when the rider wasn't around. Or they stupidly let the dude take off with his helmet too..

Just made me so sad...

If I find out you did this to your bike I would vote you off the Ninjette island! Gone! Fail!

( I am pulling your leg but I do not suggest this treatmeant for any bike)

I agree with BlueTyke, no bike should be treated that way. I wonder if it was a repo.

At least they strapped it from the bottom. I've seen bikes taken away like that with just the two straps attached to the rear sub-frame and top triple-clamp causing it to swing back and forth.

Anyway you look at it I agree that it's negligent to do this. Tow companies should have flat-beds for towing bikes.

Not to hijack the thread but, why so much hate for the Hayabusa? nearly everyone I talk to has an opinion like yours Spork, usually much more polarized.

I don't think they are pretty bikes, kinda fat and bulbous actually. But they offer a lot more than top speed.

I was thinking it was repo or impound but as it passed the DOT impound I am leaning more towards repo. They do realize they may have the goods but damaging it and the bank won't be happy. That bike was hanging by the front forks (or it looked like to me.)

I think Busa's are sexy... But thats cause I like 'em kinda big Though I do prefer the older ( 05, 06) than the newer ones. The rear is just to bubbly (as someone mentioned. The front end though lives up to it's name

Of course I am bias... my BF has an 05 Special Edition Hayabusa

Let me clarify, IMHO, I dont like them, they are great bikes no doubt, but why does anyone need a busa?
You can have a prettier bike and it just seems cliche... In my area, there are a few busas and the people that ride them were really nice until they got them. Its an entirely new mindset to put on when you get a busa, they play it off as anyone else is pure junk because they dont have one. I actually had pulled up to them one time on my buddies bike and say, hey nice bike... you know simple compliment... they looked back at me (on a 95 ninja 500) and said yeah well i cant say the same to you...
it is mostly what they do that bothers me, but on a lighter note, i just dont like the busa..

However, i agree nobody should tow a bike(any bike) like that... no matter how little i like the bike...
and if it were a repo you would think they have a trailor or something...

by the way that high-busa joke was funny... i just dont know how to quote more than one thing in my replies...

Looks like a repo truck... There is a show i watch on tv thats called Operation Repo... and they have straps just like the ones on the back of the truck there... they use them to snatch the vehicle but as soon as they get those straps to touch the car truck or whatever, it belongs to them. So i am almost posotive it was a repo...

I did read your post and I do understand. To each their own and there are asshats on every sort of bike out there. I do not disbute that.

I will speak for the .1% that may exist that logically purchased the busa... It is because he is 6'2" and almost 300lbs. A smaller bike looks even smaller (trust me when he rides Tyke it is freakin funny!) And the bike doesn't respond well. The busa on the other hand fits him quiet nicely.

That is why some people may have choosen to get the Busa.

I have heard a lot of people, non-owners say it is one of the most comfortable sport bikes made, similar things said about the Ninja ZX-14. Seems that a by-product of all that power is the bike can be a little more comfortable at least in stock form.

I personally dont like the looks of the busa or a zx-14. I've got nothing against the people that ride them. I do have a thing against jerks who ride them, and jerks who ride gixxers, and Harleys, and 50 cc vespas. I guess I just have a thing against jerks.

But really, is it because they are so big and that the engine is so big that styling is that difficult?

I can't tell you how the rider's seat feels but I certainly know my bum fits on the passenger seat quiet nicely

Sunny, Tried out a `Busa recently. Very nice bike. Reminded me a lot of the Vincent I owned at age 19. It is a lot of bike, and in the hands of a person with judgement, can be a really enjoyable ride. I expected it to be a bit twitchey, but found the bike to be really friendly if one did not crank the throttle vigorously.

Oh I bet! I know Phil enjoys riding his. I can flat foot it but I haven't been in the riders seat. I don't trust myself with it and would be devistated if something happened to Phil's bike ><' especially at my hand.

Sunny, Been following your postings and have no doubt that you could handle a `Busa. It is NOT about the bike. It is about maturity (Permit me an aside: Freud defined maturity as the ability to postpone immediate gratification) You are a mature rider and have the capacity to appreciate a `Busa or any other bike, for that matter, for what it was designed to do. This enriches your perspective and appreciation of cycling in general. Trust me, The last thing I would want to do is to grab a handful of throttle on a `Busa, ZX10, or any other bike. I do, however feel richer for the experience---even though I rode the `Busa like a "Little old lady from Pasadena".

Thanks Alex!! I hadn't thought of it that way really. I still wont give it a go anytime soon. I am sure if I asked Phil we could do some parking lot practices but currently I will stick with Tyke She is what I know I can handle.

Sunny, When you feel comfortable trying the `Busa, you will do fine. I am now looking for a Ninja 500 to build a sidecar touring rig. I think that a Ninja with a JAWA sidecar painted Yellow and Black will be a real touring rig. Hard luggage will finish the machine. Actually, I may even consider an 06 or older250. I do like the looks of the pre 08`s. The bike has plenty of power to handle a sidecar--esp. a light one like JAWA. My 1956 NSU Special Max 250 with 20HP had a sidecar option. I do think that the Kawa can be fitted with one even though the factory recommends otherwise.
