That the transmission is scary on these bikes. And not to tip in if I hear it cut out in a false neutral. I was thinking to get to the apex stand it up and add throttle to get it back in gear but it snapped back in gear while I was cranked over

It's no more on the way out than everyone elses, there isn't a single 300 on the grid over here that hasn't had a transmission problem on their bike at this point. I just got unlucky with the timing of it. There is a way to fix it but it costs a good bit of $$$ so I'll be doing that over the winter to prevent this for next season

I know exactly what you're talking about, and have scene some videos of it failing. Perhaps if they built those bikes up to the standard of the super sports they'd hold up better.

Yeah, I'm just concerned that they would have a weak link that would be so easily found

I don't think you'll come across the issue riding it easily on the street with a 300. I don't know about the 250's.

Never heard about it on the 250 and even on the 300 it only comes out when your pace is pretty fast even for a track pace. It just doesn't like the strain of being ridden properly hard

So... the transmission on a very competitively priced, low-end, street-oriented sports bike only rarely exhibits issues when pushed to extremes on a track.

Props to Kawasaki!

I wouldn't say rarely, I get some kind of issue with it almost every lap at speed....but it pretty much never happens on the street or if I slow my pace considerably to be courteous to the track day riders

It just only pops out when pushed to extremes

^ It's probably worse on a bigger bike

personally I didn't actually care much after I realized I wasn't crashing I just put my head down and tried to get good practice in. By the time I was through T2 I had forgotten about it

both technically, since it's a track day with races. I treat all track days as race practice, especially if I have a race 20 minutes later

that's just the thing, I never shifted there other than the 3 downshifts. The transmission caught and released without any input from me

With the way my fairings are set up there's nowhere on the front I can put the camera to make it level without blocking my number plate, I'll check and see if I can set it up better before next race.
