No wonder why people mistake the 250 as a bigger bike, its side profile looks similar to the CBR, only the rear tire gives it away I guess.

I agree with you mate. One reason I ordered a Ninja 650 rear wheel 4.5" wide to fit a Bridgestone BT090 150/60, with a little modification our little ninjette will surely look like a full blown sportsbike in any angle. just sweet

Sure... I will even post a pix after I'm done with this mod. Though it would take a little time for my orders to arrive since all will be coming overseas. According to our local dealer eta is 2nd week of April but my rear tire hugger will be in this March. Cant wait to put them all together... Anyway here's a teaser pix of my bike as we speak, 2010 model comes with green rear seat and black rear fairing(posted earlier). I painted my rear fairing to match the seat. No seat cowl needed. Did the FE myself too. Enjoy!

And this is how her rear will look like after the mod of 4.5" wide rim from Ninja 650 with Battlax BT-090 150/60/17 (thanks eric you know who you are)

so here's mine, finally. not the best pics as they were taken with the cell, but all i have for now. mods are as follows - painted exhaust, painted screen, passenger pegs to front (thanks kkim), stock flushmounts (thanks nemy), and fender chop (combined a few different ideas i got from this forum as well). i love this place!

I agree. When I was shopping for the 250r, I've always thought it looked very similar to the CBR. Part of the reason for that is that the CBR's fairings cover the front frame near the forks, similar to how ours is covered. Most other sportbikes show the frame from the rearsets all the way to the fork..

It has been a lot of work. I spent about 20 hours on it. and did it all in a week and a half. This was my first attempt at a multi tone paint job and it took a lot of time to get things right. I learned, that I do not like painting white, every little speck shows up between the Base and Clear, and it is a pain to keep it clean even in just a 90 minute flash time.
