they better run..

So I just broke my right front blinker the other day and was pretty upset about it... so I go to work and I'm bummed about it and all I want to do is go home and fix it. Later I look out the window and my bike that was covered is laying on the ground. I had to look twice because I just couldn't believe it. I go out to see what the hell happened. My cover is shredded my kickstand is broken and there is a huge scrape on the blacktop from where the pushed it and the kickstand drug. I called the cops and filed a report nothing will come of it tho no cameras.. and three cops I see quite often showed up besides the one who responded to dispatch I guess everyone wanted to see what all the hubub was so close to the police station. Officer helped me pick up my poor baby. My kickstand shattered had to just take it off, the other turn signal broken (no more front signals), front brake down air in the lines, scratches all over, rubber cover of throttle was coming off got that back on easy, handle bars a little lose.... you know this and that and this and that mostly little things really so that's good. got everything in okay condition and took it home.
put the stock kickstand back on but had to order a new spring cuz the other was toast and will have to get a new kickstand since it's lowered and clearly needs a shorter one. getting the cheapo blinkers set up now and changing the relay. will have to tighten handlebars up this weekend.
all this happened right when I was thinking of ordering some parts well I'm glad I didn't order them cuz now I have others that I need and I went and splurged ish on a cover which I REALLY hope this one is actually waterproof!!
so I had a rough day.. I wish the person would have came and told me but who does that anymore? hit and run what a little bitch. I heard people saying o yeah I saw that, as in they saw my bike laying there.. like wtf why didn't you say anything?? hopefully I can find a better spot to park. the officer said he would talk to some of the others and that I can park in the marked off no parking zone.. people would just think I was a douche and may hurt the poor thing more. maybe I shouldn't have a bike... psht!! no way it's not that =P

just another hit and run FNA!!

sorry to hear about that...

ask the officer if he can get you a couple of traffic cones.
or better yet have a coworker get some concrete blocks tie a rope into the middle of the block so its easy to pick up. put them in the median next to where you park.

when your there bring them out so their car hit the blocks first

Sounds like Georgia is a terrible place to own a bike. I constantly hear about bikes getting messed with, stolen, etc.

I was told I have permission to park in the lined off no parking patches at the end of the parking lot by an officer but cones or something may help I dk... there's a spot with a patch of land with a curb around it I could park there and the only way they would hit me is if they were driving down the parking area cuz its at the very edge of the lot...

standard 8x8x16. might not damage a truck but would mess up most cars.

may have to get some of those beasts and line a parking space with them so just I can park there..

put on new blinkers and relay today, but I fix one thing and mess more up I guess...

the philips on the break fluid box stripped so... yep that's F'd I guess
My clutch was all out of wack and the bolt on that is not completely broke but I don't trust it very much now... guess I'll be ordering more parts soon...
ordered the spring for the kickstand but I need another short kickstand.

who ever did this needs to know how bad they effed me over, sure bump a car and leave but don't hit and push a bike and just leave!? I don't get people... I'm super bummed I thought I would be done with everything but my kickstand today but I guess not.. the bike may not be worth it while I live here trying to decide but not rushing I dk if I could let him go...

Bolt on the clutch lever? It's the same as the one for the brake lever isn't it? If so, I just ordered 4 from ronayers; no motorcycle places had them, ronayers didn't even have them (they had to order them then ship them to me & it took a little over a week).
Anyways, if you need one I get them in tomorrow and can mail you one...if the brake lever ones are identical to the clutch ones.

did you break yours too?? it's the one that's a larger part then a thin threaded part..

does anyone know what to do with the stripped phillips? I dk how to get it out and if I can't get that out I guess I'll have to get a whole new piece for that?

I definitely shed some tears

there's all the fairing damage I'm pretty sure everything is now scratched
the crack around the turn signal port that was small but has spread and is circling the port
my broken kickstand
my rigged stock stand holding him up for now waiting on spring
clutch where that bolt came out and broke
brake where the screw is stripped and can't bleed brake
the new turn signals they are small but are just as bright if my brighter then the stock ones

still wish I had pictures from when I found it laying in the parking lot
I had my bike covered at the time too it clearly belongs to someone who works in the building helllo?
I'm still so freakin upset about it I can't sleep for some reason I feel like my bike will never feel the same...
knowing how someone can totally destroy my means of transportation in a blink of an eye is so unsettling not like I didn't know that before but to have to deal with it and fix it and then you keep finding broken things and everything is crooked, scratched, broken, or out of wack ugh sucks gives me a huge headache
he doesn't look too bad right now (besides the scratches and scrapes) no clutch, brake, or kickstand. my boy isn't going anywhere soon poor Blu

The person probably realized they ****ed up and ran.

Do you have comprehensive coverage? That might cover everything.

^no comprehensive coverage..

this was looking fine til I realized my brake disc is bent...

this person def knew they hit my bike and I hate them now because odds are I'm probably going to get rid of it I can't take like a 500-600 dollar hit every now and then because someone isn't paying attention and then decides that it's okay to just leave. I do believe these are the worst drivers I've seen and the most disrespectful it's a shame you can't have nice things because of other people.

You said your kickstand was broken? Is it possible that the kickstand failed and broke, causing your bike to fall over? I've had my bike sink straight into the asphalt in the parking lot at work. The kickstand punched a 2 inch diameter hole an inch deep.

i have seen this happen to heavier bikes, but since her brake rotor is bent that alone is evidence of foul play...

I've had no issues with my bike getting messed with, though I am careful how and where I park. But I do the same thing with my car.

@ck8go: I've had no problems with the drivers here that have been any better or worse than the mindless zombie masses anywhere else I have driven. Face it, a large number of people couldn't care less about driving in the U.S., at least not to the point of requiring actual skill. Most people want to hop in their car and isolate themselves from the road and get to their destination as quickly as possible. And God forbid they take public transit because then they would be on someone else's schedule.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Glad you were able to get it taken care of fairly quickly. I hope it didn't cost you too much.
