Why the "Monster" logo ?

Did I miss something somewhere? Every time I see a sport bike, chances are it has a "M" logo on it

Makes me think of this:

PS btw, I like red bull

It's quite elegant really, it's how idiots identify themselfs as idiots to other idiots.

But it allows for me to identify idiots, so I like them.

Well Kawi typically has special edition bikes wit Monster logo's because of their racing partnership (like Repsol Hondas). Other brands? That's just stupid.

The marketing at monster is genius, pay a racer a **** ton of money to put a stupid logo on his pride and joy and pretend to enjoy a beverage his nutritionalist says to avoid like the plague to the extent where they drink water from monster energy water bottles! As after all, water is the only drink you ever need.

Then some bright spark says "Hey guys, were're paying this chap to put this on his bike.. Maybe we get get stupid people to pay US for them to advertise for us, by selling them very expensive stickers..." That guy now has several ferari's and a private island next to the guy who thought of the idea of instead of printing cool pictures on tshirts or interesting patters, just put your company name on in massive letters, after all, we know it's worth a ten fold markup from the one factory in indonesia that makes the $3 target tshirts and the $30 skate brand tshirts if you put the company name on the tshirt in big letters.

Redbull controls their logo with an iron fist. The average consumer can't go out and buy a redbull sticker to slap on their helmet or bike. It's to keep their brand and athletes pure. When you see the actual redbull logo it's because that person is either crazy or way better than you, or both.

But I appreciate that.

No no guys put it on their street bikes because monster sponsors road racers too. Have you seen the monster energy barfed on bikes in motogp?

Rockstar is the current motocross douche sticker lol.

Pride and joy? You think cal crutchlow is excited to race a ducati? No, he is doing it because racing at the top levels is always about money. They sign contracts to race a bike with a team that pays. They don't own the bike. The just get paid to race it.

Example. Every aspiring car racer wants a stint to race with a NASCAR team. Even the guy taking dead last gets a minimum of 60k just for showing up. It doesn't matter if its a redbull car or the Viagra one. You're getting paid to race.

Once again, you are all wrong. It adds HP. At least 3 per sticker.

So plaster that bike with the monster logo. You'll wheelie in every gear.

They have the Monster M or the Rockstar logo on them, but they should really have a happy cartoon jug on their gear as all they seem to be drinking is the Kool Aid.

I think bikes that are monster edition should sell at a discount not a premium. The zx6r monster was like $200 more than the regular versions. If more money then throw in an upgraded something or other not a lime green seat and 2stickers.

seems to me like all of you saying that putting stickers of a product on ones bike are being ignorant. Now i dont know you all personally but if i did i could probably point out something that you own that contradicts what you just said.

For example, I bought guitar hero world tour when it came out, the set with the drums and guitar and what not. It also came with a shirt that had the title on it. So im a douche if i wear that shirt instead of playing the game?

No, but if you started putting Guitar Hero stickers on all your guitars (real guitars, not the make-believe ones), then yes, you would look very douchey.

You want to put them on, fine. Although for me, unless Renthal, Michelin, etc. is paying you to ride, having their decals all over your bike is rather poser-ish.

I don't like the look but I suppose it's not worse than a sports fan wearing the Jersey of their favorite athlete.

I can't imagine how someone would like the taste of any of those energy drinks. I think I would rather drink a shot of whiskey than that disgusting stuff.

Not sure I'm ready to equate an energy drink sticker to a sports jersey

its the same concept lol. People who arent on sports teams still wear jerseys. Just like people who are not sponsored by monster put monster stickers on stuff.

At least the jersey can make a bit more sense if someone is going to games and what not. I don't think there's ever an appropriate occasion for monster energy gear lol.

I personally don't care for either sports teams stuff or energy drink logos though.

stupid monster stickers. When I look at used bikes on the web there will be a perfectly fine bike that is defaced by stupid monster stickers.

I am not business or marketing buff but it boggles my mind how Red Bull seems to have so much flippin money. I mean seriously they sell sh***y over priced energy drinks that cater towards the minority of people. How are they making bank on this?
I swear they sponsor a million people in every sport/hobby imaginable, with helicopters, cars bikes you name it, they make movies/documentaries fly people half way across the world 3 times a day........they sell freakin energy drinks?

I clearly chose the wrong career, years of school specialized training when all I had to do was mix a bunch of sugar, caffeine, yellow dye with some water.

One of our 250's (think it was mine) had the 'official' Kawasaki Monster sticker pack on it - I asked the shop to remove all the decals before I picked it up.

Mainly because I thought it looked naff (and I don't like energy drinks anyway).

It goes back to the caveman days. People are programmed to feel the need to be a part of or associate with a group. It was for survival.

These days some people have a large enough group of family, friends, etc. Others need to adopt an association with others through corporate logos.
