Projekt D Universal GPS mount for EX250J

Anyone have this? I'd be interested if the base plate were a bit smaller so that I could mount my phone on it without all the extra surface on either side. They could still attach a wider plate for wider devices, so why not?

And, yes, their website does show that it's available in black.

GPS mount

Hi Guys,

On ebay the other day and i saw a $70 dollar GPS mount for the Ninja250R. That sparked my creativity again so i decided to make one.

1st: What you need!

1 - $1.90 Metal bracket from hardware store.
2 - Velcro - 3M type, super strong. Do not use any other type except 3M.
3 - Spray paint - optional.

SO all up its about $5.

Things you need:

Fold the the metal plate to make the shape you want.

Paint it black, screw it on using the available holes and screws, notice i have clipons that made it easy, but i guess you can do this with stock handlebars also.

Place velcro on the bracket and the back of the GPS.

And the final product:

But it can't pivot!

I'm sure that can be added though.

i assume that when you mold/bend the metal, you bend it to the angle fits you...and just leave it there...I don't think you are growing anytime soon so definately don't think you'd need to adjust everyday.

Looks very much like Nick's solution:

However if you really 'need' that tilt, should be fairly easy to do with another piece of sheet metal and some bolts.

Here is mine: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20009

It is a little different approach in that it keeps the GPS closer to line of sight, is clean, removable, adjustable..... but you do have to buy more expensive parts.
