Icon jackets ? Armor ?
I have been buying all my jackets pants and gloves off Craig's list . Some times you get some really great gear for a few bucks .
Well last week I scored a nice icon merc jacket for my gf off of a kid who thought it was a snowmobile jacket ! Lol I stole it for thirty bucks but at the same time it's short the liner and armor. Can anyone tell me where I can buy replacement pads and liner for a jacket? Am I an idiot for getting a textile wo pads and liner ? I think I can swap the pads out of her icon leather when she wears the textile? Thanks |

You can swap it out with the leather ones if you want. You can also find a dealer and ask them for replacement armour for it. Or you can go on like ebay and find armour that you like. I've been wanting to get a set of SAS-TEC armour for my leathers.

As you look to buy new armor, you may want to look at this thread on the quality of impact protection.
The tl;dr is: Sas-tec stuff kicks ass. CE standards are good, but aren't good enough according to doctors so some manufacturers (like Sas-tec) exceed CE standards. Others don't even meet CE standards despite claims. So I'd think about going aftermarket with Sas-tec stuff and not just getting OEM Icon stuff. Sas-tec stuff probably less expensive, and can be cut to size (confirmed by Sas-tec) without changing impact protectin, so it is easy to adapt to any gear.
