What @Triple Jim said about the $50 tachometer possibly being a little wonky makes the most sense to me tbh. Through a couple days of riding it does feel like the bike is noticeably smoother, more responsive, more sound than it was before I did the good old glass bottle and water sync.

When i had first turned the bike on with the bottles hooked up the one bottle emptied and was sucking air almost instantly and I had got them to be extremely close to the point that if there was a thicker liquid in there im confident they would have stayed leveled.

I am still however going to try the techron/sea foam idea and if there really seems like there is an issue I will go from there.

If the tach really is the only goofy thing, you might steady it by putting one or more ferrite beads on the bundle of wires going into it. Get the snap-together type and you can just snap them around the bundle.
