Wtf boots!

So I found a nice pair of boots to wear...tech 2 alphinestars...but I go for a ride and these things are like XBOXHUEG. I can hardly shift at all, and now I have to take them back.

I wear a size 13 shoe, funny thing is...these fit nicely with a size 11 but the toes are so big they are impossible to shift with.

Any recommendations for a good sport bike boot? Clearly these weren't made for fast agile shifts. Feels like I'm shifting with rain boots on X_X, I need something that isn't so tall in the toe area so it can fit easier between the shifter lever and peg.

I've been quite happy with my Sidi B-2 boots. Sidi apparently is 'known' for boots that have a short toe height. Took a little getting used to, not being able to really curl my toes in the boot, but it's a great fit with the shifter, etc.

Any chance you could just adjust the angle of your shifter linkage?

I have Joe Rocket Super Street Boots. They rock, and Newenough.com is the place to buy!

In any case, most boots that are worth a dang are pretty much going to feel the same, it's a necessity of design to provide protection. I went through 6 different types through Newenough (sorta had the returns number on speed dial for a while!) from Sidis to Alpinstars, and settled on the Rockets because they were the best of the lot for me.

Be aware that there are a LOT of boots out there maskarading as riding boots that are nothing more than overpriced high top shoes! They're comfortable, and fill the "look", and allow easy movement, but offer next to nothing in terms of protection.

Motosport.com has a nice selection and faster and cheaper shipping than new enough. The prices are the same also or very close.

Motorcyclesuperstore also has some really good price I was just noticing.

I just picked up a pair of Joe Rocket Meteor boots yesterday. Real nice boots. They fit super well, are fairly comfortable for walking in, dont look like space boots, and still have plenty of protection.

Im not a big fan of the Superstreet....mainly because they squeak like crazy when you walk in them.

I couldn't find a way to adjust the lever, I have stock rear sets. This is on the 929

move the shift lever one up on the splined shift shaft.

If you follow the toe shifter back you'll see a little black rod with a nut on either side. If you loosen the nuts and spin the rod, you will adjust shifter hight up/down depending on direction of turn.

One end of the rod is threaded in a reverse direction, so be carefully loosening the nuts or you'll strip it. Don't ask me how I know.

Also be sure to snug these up after adjusting really well, maybe use some locktite blue or green or something, otherwise vibration can make it slowly spin, and you'll wind up at a major intersection and not be able to shift without getting off the bike and re-adjusting it. Once again, don't ask me how I know this.

Bah, just re-read that it's for a 929. Maybe the same thing applies?

My AXO boots were a half size too big, last night I put gel insoles in them, then put the thin included insole back on top of that. Now they fit really good and the gel might help with the vibrations from my cycle.

Another vote for SIDI. They're fabulous. I have the Sidi Lei's. They took some getting used to, but I think it was cause I was wearing thin shoes to start *yikes*

I have no shifting issues at all, and they've already saved both my ankles

Tech 2's are a member of the alpinestars tech series of boots. The tech series is their dirt line...

Dirt boots=HUGE toe box to keep your feet from being crushed.

Get some street boots, and ebay the tech 2's. They've got next to nothing for ankle protection anyway.

I have Frank Thomas boots which required adjusting the shifter just a smidge to account for my regular boots being slimmer in the toe.
