Just out of curiosity: why?
It's not that much of a hassle to put the key in and turn it. Plus, with a keyless ignition how do you plan on locking your forks?

Hmm, I'd say to pull it and rewire the switches to an on/off power switch/button so you don't bleed battery power while sitting. I'd say that all that would be needed would be basic soldering skills and the ability to identify which wires to solder. It would be simpler for me since I could just give my older brother (certified electrician) a beer to do it "with" (read: for) me.

To actually do it would be easier with a wiring diagram, I think shop manuals have those. You should pick one up if you don't already own one.

You need a way to keep the bike from constantly drawing power from the battery unless you want to pull the fuse all the time.

We just did this to my track bike too. Stopped by autozone and grabbed a 30v switch. @shane liberty should remember since it wasnt too long ago but we got rid of the colored wires that ran to blinkers etc and kept the rest to run to the kill switch.

Yeah I'm running a switch in place of kit's ignition on her bike but Cyclemall ran everything to the normal kill switch on my bike. They soldered a resistor in the harness somewhere to make it work without killing the battery. I honestly don't know how to do that part so I didn't do it.

I can show you exactly how to wire up a separate switch like I did for Kit's bike, though. Simple deal really. We have a schematic of the wire harness.

Decided to take a look at the wiring diagram and the bike in the garage tonight. I did the same wiring as above but instead of putting it to a switch I removed the RED and RED/YELLOW pins from the RH control. That is for the Start/Stop switch and I connected the BROWN/GREY with 100ohm resistor to the RED and the WHITE with WHITE/BLACK to the RED/YELLOW. This will make the Start/Stop switch your ON/OFF "ignition" switch.

You just have to then connect the other side of the control plug's two wires together which is RED and BROWN/BLACK wires.....

Following me? I'll post some photos soon if needed ;-)

Enjoy!

I would love pictures of what you did. Also, what are you folks doing about the connector? are you re-using the old one or is there a work-around?
