Unhappy fuel inlet tube on carb cracked or loose? Leaks gas!

I changed the gas filter between the petcock and the fuel inlet (that black L shaped fitting) on the left side of the left carb. Now it leaks gas from the fuel inlet, dripping down the fuel hose and down the carb...really gushing fuel. The hose is securely clamped. Maybe I tightened it too much?

Is the inlet tube replaceable or fixable or am I screwed??

Just replace it with a fuel hose from Autoparts; they sell it by foot

He's referring to the inlet tube, not the hose itself.

I'm not seeing it with its own part # on any of the diagrams, which may mean you need to buy a whole carb & rob it. Check Ebay to see if anyone is parting out a carb, otherwise, pick up a whole used one & rob the tube off it.

It may not be the fitting but the hose what leaks onto it.

If it wasn't cracked before, what made it start leaking now?

You could try repairing it with epoxy, in case it is actually a cracked fitting.

You may be able to replace it with a automotive hose fitting. You will need to find one that matches the thread size of the original. Something similar to this-

I replaced the spring hose clamps with screw type...

after I pulled the fuel lines off to replace the filter and that's when it started leaking - after I tightened the screw type hose clamp onto the fitting on the carb. I will have to check to see if it screws into the carb like the example Dablue posted or if it is a press fit and if I can stop the leaking with oil/gas resistant sealant. Not looking to buy a carb to get the part.

I repair more than I ride
