I think I might need this DIY in the near future. My front brakes have started squealing the past week, and they look pretty well worn. I did not know about the indicator grove in the pads and will look for that tomorrow when it is daylight. Also my bike only has 3k miles on it, is that too soon for brakes to wear out, my back tire needs replacing soon too, argh I just got this thing like 2 months ago.
