Let's pretend that instead of a forum, this is a real life social club full of people you know. Some friends, acquaintances and maybe a few people you're not too fond of, but generally a good bunch of people. One guy you know gets up and leaves, doesn't say goodbye. You don't know why he left but you heard he told someone he was tired and needs a break. Again, this is real life. What do you do? Do you sulk for hours in front of everyone about how he left, saying over and over again "Boy I sure I wish he'd come back"? This is the way I see it. I'm NOT saying he wasn't a good guy or anything, but the fact that you are all crying over him not being around should be humiliating to you all. Eventually he would probably put his pride aside and come back on his own terms for a visit. But I bet all this drama over him "leaving" in the first place is making that less and less likely.

I'm pretty sure nobody's crying, and I'm quite sure nobody's feeling humiliated.

Colin, you will never know and never understand because you were not around in the very begining of this forum. If it bothers you so much the way that people are reacting to his leaving then don't read the posts. It's just like a TV show that you don't like...turn the channel or turn it off all together.

Really the only "drama" I read in this thread has been around your instance that those who are nostalgic, and appropriately expressing their feelings of loss for Kelly, are "childish," "crying," etc. It may be difficult for you to be as vulnerable with your own emotions, but please stop judging the rest of us. Can we please agree to drop it, and move forward? Even if we have to agree to disagree. I believe the tone this thread has taken is only proving Alex and some others' point. You may still feel we don't get you, but lets please drop it.

This thread is awful. I feel that it has reached a level of disrespect. Some of the stuff written here is exactly what I was talking about months ago Alex. I believe this truly started out as a fun push to a friend with no harmful intent, but now has excelled to trolling and just a excuse to argue for some. I try and try to return but dang it, Less bullshit more riding I say.

Yep, nobody is crying or "begging" him to come back, but there's nothing wrong with missing someone with a plethora of trustworthy information who we all liked and thought as a friend. Get in touch with your sensitive side every now and then, Cynical. It'll get you further in life than always being, well, cynical.

I would just like to say that Kelly was one of those people that went out of his way to be helpful and informative. He didn't do it for any other reason than to make entering the sport a bit more palatable for everyone. We had a couple of PM conversations that were critical to me learning about my bike. You just don't come across people like that all that often, and they tend to leave an impression.
I don't mean to necro this thread, but I lurked it a while back and forgot to post in it. I'm sure he will be back and his throne will be waiting for him: |

To put together a DIY with descriptions and images and then do Q&A's on every meticulous little detail ain't hard...but it sure as heck ain't easy! (don't ask me how I know)
Kkim spent his VALUABLE time doing so for no other reason than public good. He asked nothing in return. Kkim wanted to make people better people and set an example of proper online conduct. Undoubtedly Kkim saved peoples' lives as well as saved people money, blood, sweat and tears through his sincere efforts. Thank you Kkim.
