Front tire cupping issue

My front tire has 6k miles still tons of life but it is cupping. Tire pressure is checked before every ride. Its a Bridgestone Battle axe BT-45. Forks are 12mm above the triple trees. I did install the .95kg sonic springs and added 15wt fork oil using the Motion pro fork oil tool so i know the fluid level is dead on and my fork are not leaking. What can I look for that can cause this.

It's not necessarily unusual to see something like cupping on a front tire with 6,000 miles on it. Can you post a photo of what you're seeing? My BT45 front is getting fairly worn now, and has a sort of sawtooth wear, with a ramp up to each diagonal tread groove.

That's exactly what mine is doing. Just kind of surprised since my last 4 sets of shinko's never did that, and as soon as I get a decent Bridgestone it does this.

My OEM BT-45 front-tyre did that too. I suspect it has something to do with the small tread blocks. Replacement Shinko with larger tread-blocks doesn't seem to do it.

I don't know that it's a problem, just a normal wear pattern. The supermoto guys around here run a front BT45 on both the front and rear of their bikes at the track.

Anyone else that ran the Shinkos feel like they could corner harder with the Shinkos then the Bridgestones?

Thanks. I've heard good things about Shinko tires, but have always used BT45s on the 250. I know guys who do track days on those and have trusted them. I wish there were an easy way to compare real-world traction between the Bridgestones and the Shinkos.

I've read on forums that wet traction is better with BT45s than Shinko 740 and 741. When I got my 250 it had a Kenda Cruiser on the front and it wouldn't do a stoppie. With a BT45 it will.

I don't push it anywhere near hard enough to notice difference on streets. Both will let me scrape pegs and exhausts, which is faster than I should go on streets.

I guess I should take my street-bike to track-day at Thunderhill and get some lap-times. But it wouldn't be fair comparison as BT-45 times were on 5-yr old OEM tyres when I started at track. I'm much faster now and Shinkos would be 1-yr old...

I think both tyres have sufficient traction to go way, way too fast on streets. I think you're more likely to run out of good-judgement and skill before reaching limits of these tyres.
