Chain Tension Issues

Bike has the stock chain with 14k miles, bought it with 13k miles and have been lubing the chain every 250 miles since I've owned it.

Shimmed the cush drive today and had to adjust the chain tension. While adjusting it I noticed that the chain tension would differ at various parts of the chain. While spinning the rear tire around, some parts of the chain would be within 0.8-1.2" spec while at others it would be extremely tight.

Does this sound like the chain needs replacing?

Adjust it for the tightest spot. IE make sure the tightest spot is the spot that's in the correct tension.

Keep an eye on it. Here's some more info on when chains need replaced.
