I think it's some funny reading Link to another fourm you spend time on
You buy a pirated exhaust and think you will get the same Quality or Customer Service as Area P would give you .
Your carbon fiber is hazy because it is not high quality material like Kerry uses at Area P

Looks nice..I hear ya man they are expensive. I still havn't saved up enough for my exhaust yet but I'll probably wait until I have enough for a real area p. Nothing wrong with buying knock offs, but not for my bike....just like cereal and stuff. lol

Looks just like an Area-P to me? Expensive? I got my Area-P for $450 shipped. Thats cheap! Shoot I payed $700 for the exhaust on my GSXR-600 and that was just a slip on. Comparing the prices I thought It was cheap.

As I can see, you've changed your profile info to now say "Carbon fiber full exhaust" instead of AreaP exhaust.

But putting that aside, did you find the install hard? And have you noticed any performance differences?

Looks great! I want to replace my exhaust with an aftermarket slip on, but I don't want to deal with rejetting.

In my opinion, I would rather save up for another couple of months to spend that extra $100+- on an exhaust that has proven to be one of the leading brands available for the 250R. The AreaP exhaust and crew have a reputation for great customer service and a great, quality product for their customers.

As consumers, I believe that we should be doing all things possible to drown out these "copy cats" who just copy other people's product after they have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in the research and production of it.

However, it was your choice to buy this 'Private Label MFG' exhaust and I have nothing against that. Your money, you can do whatever the hell you want!

Also the AreaP exhaust has to be one hell of a product, especially if the fastest Kawasaki Ninja 250R has one of these bad boys installed.

I agree. I don't own an Area P, hell I haven't even heard one in real life but just from positive word of mouth and you tube videos it is definitely one of the two choices for my new exhaust. Im torn between that and the yosh but the only reason I would choose the yosh over the Area p is since Im leaning towards going the slip on route...area p- you make me want to be a better mechanic!

I looked it over and it doesn't look too tough. I don't think the rejetting looks too overly complicated. I'm just kind of hesitant....its like if you had a kid and he/she needed surgery and you were going to do it...I couldn't handle it if I harmed my baby!!

I know, but that's what's great about doing your own work. You can take as much time as you like and make sure the work gets done properly the first time around. Who do you think would put more care into your work... you or a mechanic being paid x amount of dollars per hour? See the incentive for them to rush?

If it were something way complicated, I might agree with you, but if you have some degree of mechanical skills, the right tools and arm yourself with all the knowledge you can gather on the subject, you'll be surprised how easy the job can be.

I'll definitely look more into it. Right now I'm a bit short on time as I'm juggling working full time with a full load of classes. Not to mention the ninja is my primary mode of transport right now. But all your DIYs definitely inspire me. Youre like the mechanical wind beneath my wings.

the prospect was intimidating as well for me, but i was able to get the mechanic to help me out while they were doing my 3000 Km service. since they took the carb out for a clean anyhow. it only took another 5~10 minutes to change out the main jets, and replace the needles at that point. we didn't even need to drill out the mixture screws, since it came uncapped from the factory.

we were lucky and the bike ran great first try we did, so it did not require us to take her apart again to try and change anything.

now that ive seen how it was done, i believe that anyone that's taken a bike apart (just to clean the carb) could re-jet it. the only issue is having the time/patience to get it right if the first setting does not work properly, it will require you to take the carb apart again till its done or feels right.

i plan to take my bike to the dyno (finally have one on island, yay) and test her with #100 main jets, and different clip positions on the needle to see if i can get it perfect. but as it is, without any fiddling about, the bike is running great!

and yeah, kerry has survived my nooby-ness hes patient, and reliable, and answers even the most silly questions i threw at him, lol.

ah, while im at it... (maybe kelly has an answer here, or kerry if hes reading) i have the flat end exhaust, and am noticing a slight build up of a yellow/brown color around the exhaust mouth. is that normal? is that an indication that i'm running too rich, or too lean maybe? or that there is a problem with my engine burning oil? wasn't noticeable with the stock exhaust, since the end cap is black. i did a motoman hard break in, while always making sure the bike was properly warmed up, and never keeping a constant RPM for long. (so i hope its not a problem with the engine )

Ive got the same exhaust was the first to buy it over at another forum and its a decent exhaust and the **** for the money yeah all of us can not buy area P even if we would like to.....and if you plan on selling the bike eventually to buy a bigger one what is the point in throwing an eighth of the bikes total value into minor gains? and this is a damn good substitute.
