Roy was great. I got to see him open for Johnny Winter in a smallish theater. He strolled out casually playing a very energetic instrumental version of Zeppelin's Rock and Roll and went on from there.

Oh sorry, I fixed it. Of course I know it wasn't 'his' but I don't think anyone will ever play a better interpretation than Roy. Jealous that you were able to see him play live.

My favorite Roy album was That's What I am Here For. Billy Price's singing really helped, in my opinion. I saw Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Section at Desperado's in DC back in those days too. Also Gatemouth Brown, BB King, Gregg Allman, Bobby Parker, Bobby Bland, Robin Trower, Procol Harum, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc., all in clubs. That was one of the very few things I liked about living near DC.
