Just an update since receiving this back in Jan 2013, the hugger is still going strong. I use my bike to commute to work, 5 days a week, pretty much everyday, rain, hail and shine. With a change to work, I no longer ride my bike, but since Jan 2013 to about mid 2016, rode just over 11,300 km (7000miles) per year, so a total of about 39,500 km (24,500miles) for three and a half years. Only issue was the double sided tape giving up on a few occasions, so a permanent fix I did was a urethane/silicon type glue, removed the muffler so I could get some G clamps to hold the hugger in place while the silicon to dry for a day and it has been tough as nails with the flexibility to withstand the vibrations of the rear end. Bike gets little use now but still happy till this day and get some nice comments too.
