glasses camera??

Anyone played with these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/5MP-720P-HD-...item23381b173b

wide angle, would seem to have good riding perspective, and certainly waterproof inside my helmet.

Just wasting time on a wet saturday.... Why not extend the camera in an 808 or mobius camera module and tuck the camera itself inside your helmet padding. You can mount the camera module to some sort of arm in the top center of your helmet. A run of a USB cable out the back could turn the camera on and off.

I have a Drift, so I'll be running that off USB power. Was looking at the glasses because I wear glasses and you can get them w/prescription, so less stuff to carry around/wear, etc.

the pivothead looks intriguing.

As for the ebay one, you probably get what you pay for..i would imagine the video quality would be as good as those cheap dash cams (not good).

Disagree. Some of the ebay cameras record some damn good quality video for the price.

Yes, I was/am looking for a recommendation... I asked M13 on his youtube page and haven't gotten an answer yet.

So I ordered the ones OP linked to, and they came yesterday. The video quality is pretty good. But, as expected, they're a too bulky to wear with a full face helmet. They'd work well with a skid lid though.

Here's my $30 Amazon dash cam in the daytime.

Link to original page on YouTube.

It actually worked well in the daytime, but at night it was worthless. Mostly black with purple static, and some red and white lights when a car was nearby.

I imagine with a sunglasses camera the wearer wouldn't be wearing their sunglasses at night, so night performance wouldn't matter. I think it's much easier to get a cheap camera to record decent quality with lots of light available, so this might be an application where a cheap camera may be ok. Frequently with cheap stuff the problem is quality control. One person may get a decent product while others will get the defects that decent quality control would have caught.

those look like theyd be absolutely terrible with a helmet on..specially with the attachment things, they'd put pressure on the back side of ur skull the entire time while riding >_>

Wifi and bluetooth transmitters that close to your head all the while you've got your glasses on? That sounds like a very bad idea to me.

Thanks for the link. Bookmarked! I want to rig one of these to my ninjette at some point. I'm considering putting it behind the clear windscreen. I want to mount it such that it doesn't stand out so when I park my bike in public areas no one notices and tries to steal it.

Perhaps, but I see no difference w/motorcycle Bluetooth communicators.

Maybe, maybe not. In any event, I am sticking w/my Drift, I have found a work around that may work for me.

I require prescription glasses to ride legally, so these would be a no-go for me, right? I wear a low-rez Looxcie Bluetooth camera purely for DVR functions when I drive the cage.

I've been thinking of getting a cheapie dash or helmet cam, just more for C.Y.A documentation should I ever have a boo-boo in traffic.

Any recommendations? Doesn't need to be really great image or anything, just serviceable should I ever need to show it to a cop or an insurance agent.

If you are looking for a cheapy, I'd look into the Mobius cam. @allanoue installed one on his bike and connected it to the battery, so when you start the bike, it starts recording. I am going to do a similar set-up, hopefully in the near future.

Is it water-resistant?
