3) Like any club that has grown too large, it has become mired in vacuous debates and split into a thousand splinter factions. Older riders hate squids; cruisers hate sport riders; Harley riders hate everyone, including themselves.
 On a more serious note, he seems to be a very adamant about spiders  . It sounds more like he needs an exterminator if he has to check for spiders and webs daily. I have never been tempted to run a red light or ride without a helmet. It seems as though that guy was just an irresponsible rider with an insect problem, lol.

I haven't had spiders, but I've had scorpions in both my boots and helmet. After a sting to the face, I have checked every time for the last 10+ years...
It's a toss up between "You join a club" and "It turns you into a moron" for the best one though.

Full face helmet, the only way to go. Though once, when I was riding down the highway to another city, a spider started building a web from the corner of my eyeglasses over to the edge of the helmet visor opening. She had the web fairly well built by the time I stopped for gas a couple hours later. I was able to extricate her safely and leave her in a safe place.
One technical correction to what he wrote: Inductance loops do NOT work by "squishing (wires) together", they work like metal detectors. Doubt anyone here didn't know that, just wanted to say it.

I don't think the author realizes that helmets aren't optional in most states. Funny though!
