no probl! thanks for the advice anyway.

tried to sell them last season and decided to give them a fair chance last week but no go. it wasn't missing shifts due to not having enough room (could just move shift lever like you said) but being unused to the position heels put me in. maybe it's just mental....i can barely walk in them on flat ground! lol!

And to azia, follow bart's advice and walk heel-toe, heel-toe. Not that I would know (that facebook pic is photoshopped )

Oh that's too bad! Mine are all scratched up already from shifting!!! That little patch of suede doesn't help!

Even with the boots and bike at lowest suspension....I am still tip toe on bike!
I think I better get sliders.... I was practicing in parking lot doing emergency stops and it was a windy day too....I had a couple close calls!!! Lucky I landed on my right foot and was strong enough to hold it up! But I got a bad feeling that if I hit gravel at a stop....I might drop her!!!

Hey I am wondering does the black 2008 paint job have a little sparkle in it when the light hits it?

I need to get a tank pad too...just 2 days of riding and the tank looks like it needs a buff! Any suggestions everyone???

no matter what size the bike, if you fall over cause you can't touch the ground, it's not going to be fun.

Yeah that is why I went and grabbed her even with the crazy winds on Saturday, because the dealer is closed Sundays and I knew the snow was coming Monday-Wednesday!

I was frozen by the time I got home!!
I dunno....but I read the manual and it says to keep her at 4rpm for the 1st 800 kms!!
I didn't do that on the ride home....
Sunday I took her out for 100+kms and I tried to keep her at 4rpms....no way I could do it unless I am on 6th and going max of 60kms!!!
Do you think I will hurt her if I don't break her in like the manual says to do?

Don't worry Goldie, our little ninja isn't THAT fragile! I think the manufacturer mades these "recommendations" to cover their own ass. So if you push her past 4, you'll still be okay. Just don't redline her whole way home! Hehehe.

I've been out with my baby a few times now. Actually, this Sun did about 225kms. I LOVE her lowered. A few moments going over craters but I felt SOO much better going over gravel (there was a work site in Kleinberg that we went by) and onto the dirt to park a few times. I lowered her 1 inch in front, 1.5 inch back. Haven't noticed the handling change...actually feels better now that centre of gravity is lower. You can always just do a half inch...should make minimal difference in handling but big difference in comfort. My bum hurts after low rides even with stock seat...I personally wouldn't shave the seat on the new gen Ninjas if you want to travel or ride often.

Yeah, I would say to lower the bike also.

But have a blast on your new bike, ride safe and good luck.

Welcome Goldie!

I'm 5'2" also and I'm on my tippy toes. Just make sure the pavement is level before you stop. Casue that's how I had a close call. One side of the road dipped a little low and I almost dropped her on my left. Whew!
Happy Riding!

congrats on finally getting your new ride. I'm just 5' tall and am also on my tippy toes. Took the seat off and sat on it to find that height was perfect so i either have to lower it or strip the seat to the base and put some gel or thin quality foam. I really don't want to lower it cause a lot of people said it would affect the ride. I dropped the bike within 5 min of having it. Mom wanted me to move it in her garage and tought i would drop it if i sat on it so i decide to push it instead. At least now i don't have to worry about dropping her again. When i get used to the bike i will change the fairing.
