[] - Rizoma Presents: The Stealth Mirror

From the brand that has brought you some of the most innovative aftermarket accessories for your motorcycle, Rizoma has done it again. Taking inspiration from the world of aeronautics and merging it with its massive racing experience, Rizoma has created a supersport mirror unlike any other Ė the Stealth.

A direct replacement for the standard mirrors, the Stealth is a mirror cleverly disguised as a wing.

A product designed specifically for supersport motorcycles, the Stealth was created to look as minimal as possible, to keep with overall sportbike design, but also to provide great visibility for its primary role as a mirror. It consists of two parts: a fixed mirror stalk, which is directly mounted to the fairing, and a movable glass element, which acts as a mirror when rotated 90-degrees into the viewable position.

Rotate the end of the winglet to reveal the mirror.

Wait, movable? Thatís right; when the element is rotated into the closed position, it blends perfectly with the mirror stalk and transforms into an aerodynamic wing. Because letís face it, in this age of modern sportbikes, if you donít have wings then youíre one step behind the competition. But the Stealth is more than just a good-looking mirror Ė itís a functional wing, too. In the closed position, the wing-like shape has an angle of attack of 25ļ relative to the ground, which not only contributes to a new, sleek, and aggressive look for your sportbike, but also adds downforce for better grip and handling, especially at high speed. To give you an idea of how much force this small but mighty wing can produce, at 186 mph (300 kph) the Stealth wings generate 8.8 pounds (4 kilograms) of downward force.

With such a highly technical piece like the Stealth, Rizoma went to great lengths to design the mirror stalk for each motorcycle application. At this stage in your life, the last thing you want to do is re-live your teenage years of installing wings on your hatchback the wrong way. Because of this, as of this release date, the Stealth is currently only available for the Honda CBR1000RR, BMW S 1000 RR, Kawasaki ZX-10R, Suzuki GSXR-1000, Yamaha YZF-R1, Ducati Panigale V2, and Ducati Panigale V4. The fixed part of the Stealth (the mirror stalk) has been designed to fit these specific models and integrate with the respective bodywork while still meeting the aerodynamic downforce mentioned above.

But what about the mirror, you ask? Not only did Rizoma go to great lengths to ensure the Stealth would perform as a wing, but itís also effective in its primary job as a mirror, too. When rotated into place to be used as a mirror, they end up aligning perfectly with the riderís eye level when tucked into the sporty riding position. So not only do you get the wind protection from the windscreen, but you also have the ability to see behind you, too. Made of billet aluminum, the Stealth has a convex glass surface to provide a surprisingly wide viewing angle despite its small size.

Available in three different anodized colors: black, silver, and thunder grey, the Stealth is a cool and innovative modification for your motorcycle. And thatís not just us talking Ė the Stealth is what won Rizoma the Best of the Best 2021 Red Dot Design award.
