[visordown.com] - Bikers honour Remembrance Sunday

Picture from Twitter

THOUSANDS of bikers gathered on the M25 to create the 'largest poppy' to mark Remembrance Sunday.

The event was organised by Julia Stevenson and bikers met at various service stations around the M25 before heading out to complete a 'ring of red' around the motorway that surrounds the capital.

The bikers were asked to wear something red, whether that be a T-Shirt over their leathers, a red helmet or a red jacket. All the bikers were also wearing poppies.

Organiser Stevenson said: "This is an opportunity for the biking community to offer a mark of respect to those who have fallen defending our freedoms and liberty."

People gathered on motorway bridges to wave the bikers past and car drivers flooded Twitter with tweets wondering what the mass of red bikers was for. The hashtag #ringofred was used to generate interest and keep everyone informed.

It's estimated that 20,000 motorcycles were on the M25 to create the ring of red.
