It's been done, but the diameter of the 08-12 headers is smaller. Area P, during their research with making the pregen system, found that both bikes have very different needs in the exhaust system department. Their systems for each bike are very different.

So, no. Don't don't stick an 08-12 header on an 87-07 bike.

Here's a great source of info for the 88-07 bike. It covers a whole bunch of topics. It's worth reading through some of it:
http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Main_Page

I got those lenses a couple years ago from D2moto. D2Moto has since gone out of business practically. I've read that amber lenses are getting very hard to find.

I love it. I picked up the header and the can separately on Ebay for about $180. The header is perfect, the can is a touch rashed.

It sounds fantastic and it made a noticeable difference in the mid-range and throttle response. It's louder than my stock cans, but definitely quieter than my TwoBrothers cans. Those things were insanely loud.

Looks a lot better IMHO.

thats what i was wondering cause i'm not a big fan of the duels they are just to quiet for me but i'm used open header mud trucks with 5 to 600 horsepower. how do you feel about changing the sprockets cause i run lots of highway miles right at 300 a week just back and forth to work and i wanted to bring the rpms down to bout 5500 to 6000 at 60 mph

That might be too long gearing. I'd shoot for higher rpms than that. Remember that the bike has to rev to make power. Too few rpm, and you'll spend the whole time with the throttle wide open. Too many rpm, and it feels extra buzzy.

Play with this: http://faq.ninja250.org/speed/#noredir

Looks like 15/42 gearing will put you at 6700 rpm at 60 mph. A lot of people use that for highway miles with good results.

I run 15/45. I used to run 14/47, which ran 10k+ on the highway but was fantastic for curvy back roads. No problems from high revs for long periods of time. Just be sure to check the oil level regularly.

A 15t front sprocket is cheaper than a 42t rear.

If you're going to start with just one sprocket, put a 15t on the front. It fits with a stock chain just fine. Many use it because it's a good compromise and an easy change.
