ZG Sport Touring Windshield - I Won the Ebay Auction

First, a little history. Last week I saw an auction on ZGOutlets Ebay site for a Sport Touring (ST) Windshield with an opening bid $44.99!!!!! There were 3 days left and no bidders, so I was going to wait until the last day to bid. Well, with 2 days and a few hours left, someone bid $44.99. ZG promptly accepted the bid and closed the auction! I sent an email to ZG and asked what the deal was. Their response...."We have others available at our regular price on our website!" WTF!!!

Since then, I have been checking their Ebay site. Saturday night they put up another ST. Opening bid was set at $44.99!! Sunday morning I checked and someone had bid on it, so I bid $45.99. Sure enough, last night ZG accepted my bid and closed the auction!

Go to the following link and follow the link on the right side to their other items on auction. They usually have one or two double bubbles and one sport touring.

Thats a great deal. From what I have seen the factory seconds aren't noticably flawed. Almost makes me wish I had waited, almost.

Ryan,

Even though others were pushing for me to get the double bubble, I liked the way your bike looked with the sport touring one!

Thanks I like it too But I'm also more about function than form.

Me too! I wanted a little more wind deflection, thus more comfort!

Windshield Installed

Brown dropped off the Sport Touring Windshield today. Took off the old one and popped out the well nuts with my fingers and installed same on the new ST. Here's a pic after completion.

Rode 50 miles today with the new windshield. Since I'm 6'2", the wind now hits me directly in the face, instead of the chest.

Hehe got mine back in Feb. Mine was probably one of the auctions you were looking at that ended early. I had the same thing happen and when another one popped up I asked the seller if they would end it early and they did. Haven't installed it yet.

ChuckFever,

Yep, it was the same auction! I was going to bid on the last day. When they cut it short, I sent an email asking WTF. The response was you can buy them at our online store. So, I watched everyday and you know the results!

The install is really simple. As I stated, you can remove the well nuts with your fingers.

Might want to grab some extras. Mine were torn when I tried to install it. They are M5-0.8 (bike shop or online) 10-32 will also work (found at your local Lowe's)

Thanks for the tips on the install guys. As soon as we start getting some decent weather here I'll be more motivated to work on the bike

Well it got to 58 degrees today and there was this big orange round thing in the sky. I think I remember reading somewhere that they call that the sun?

Anyway I pulled the Ninja out of the garage and installed the ZG windscreen.

It was a snap to install and as posted you really have to be careful with the rubber grommets as they look as if they are 20 years old.

I'm very satisfied with the fit and look but haven't tested it's effectiveness yet. I'm more of a sport touring kind of guy though, so for those who are more of the super sport type you might be more satisfied with the look of the double bubble.

Here are some pics:
